Managing a city is something that many people who are into these types of games find kind of relaxing or even therapeutic. What makes this game stand out is the sheer depth of what is on offer. The early access build of the game that is on STEAM is pretty feature-packed considering the game is only in its first phase.

Good Times To Thriving Times

The whole idea of what you need to do in this game is to take a rather small city and then make it something truly huge. Voxel Tycoon is all about making the right decisions at the right time. You want your city to thrive and become almost self-sufficient with you stepping in when things need fixing or when you get an idea of how you can make even more money.

Anyone who has played any kind of sim-management style of game such as Sim City or even something along the lines of Factorio is going to love what this offers. It is not just making buildings and utilities you need to set up supply chains and make sure the city runs as smoothly as possible.

Mining Is Just The Beginning

The way things start of in Voxel Tycoon is with mining. Like other similar games, mining is what is going to give you your resources. The thing is, that is just the start. Once you have your materials, you need to use things like crushers and refineries to get them into the material and items you need.

You need to build factories and this is where the complexity in the game comes to play. You need to build full-on supply chains so the materials come in at one end, get processed, and then get taken to where they need to go. As you progress, you get access to new technologies, buildings, and so on that, you can use to make more “modern” things and increase your profits.

I’m A Trucking Man

Much like factories and buildings, vehicles play a huge part in Vox Tycoon. There are a ton of vehicles and due to the unique physics system, that the game has. You have to be rather crafty with the types of vehicles you use to haul certain materials and do certain jobs. You can have a detailed railway system where you set out the tracks and decide where the trains stop, where they load, and so on. The way you can set just one truck off on its way or take control of a whole fleet at the same time is going to make for some very interesting situations as you progress through the game.

Blox Or Vox?

The presentation of Vox Tycoon is very eye-catching. I like the way it has that “boxy” feel to it all and even though at first glance the game has a kind of minimalistic kind of thing going on. It is very appealing and things are detailed enough so that you know what everything is. This is the kind of game you will spend a ton of hours on so having an art style that is easy on the eyes is very welcoming.
