Twelve Minutes

If you love adventure games that come with an intriguing plot line, then you might want to keep an eye on Twelve Minutes by Luis Antonio. The game, published by Annapurna Interactive, looks set to be an intriguing add-on to the gluttony of adventure games out there to pick from today. The game is set for release in August 2021, and looks set to be quite an interesting addition to the various adventure games out there.

Is Twelve Minutes going to be a game that you would enjoy, though? Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

A unique concept built on replayability

The first thing that we know about Twelve Minutes is that this is going to be a game all about replaying the same sections over and over. It takes place within a smart set of apartment blocks, and the smallest surrounding area. within the game, you will need to keep play through the same series of events over and over as you try and overcome the mystery. The catch? You have, as the title suggests, only 12 minutes to complete the whole puzzle.

As you play through it each time, one expects that you will need to keep overcoming the same issues. Improving over time, though, you’ll start to whizz through the sections you master whilst learning more about what is to come. That trial and error approach in a short space of time immediately reminds people of games like Dream Alone or Rusty Lake Hotel. It does, though, look to have an interesting enough plotline to make it actually worth playing more than once. Many games like this tend to fall flat due to lacking enough quality to make multiple playthroughs worth your time. By contrast, though, Twelve Minutes looks to be utterly packed with interesting things to do that should definitely hold your attention as you play.

A whole new kind of mystery to solve

At the moment, we have yet to play Twelve Minutes so cannot say exactly how it works. However, with so much to see and so many avenues to go down, you might find it to be as replayable as something like Where The Water Tastes Like Wine.

With an interesting enough gameplay loop – a top-down perspective is used – and an easy to follow point and click style, this is one that should draw in fans of such adventure games. With the main loop only lasting you 12 minutes, the development team have suggested the game could take something in the region of 6-8 hours to complete in total.

That should offer enough value for money, then, to make Twelve Minutes a game that you are willing to try out when it is released in the coming weeks.

Pros:

  • Interesting idea with a very intriguing gameplay loop
  • Natural replayability should keep fans coming back for more
  • Filled with enough content to keep you playing

Cons:

  • Needs to be played first before a full evaluation can be made
