Having your superhero in a video game can be one of the most satisfying experience a gamer could attest to. Having enjoyed the latest sequel to your superhero, to continue experiencing their might in a game is a welcomed experience. Spiderman, Batman and Superman fans can understand the feeling.

The only drawback is when your superhero character in the video game does not match what you enjoyed at the movies. One such instance is The Incredible Hulk 2003 series. Though the game was okay it lacked depth, had too many gameplay mechanics that were not too enjoyable to try and master as well as enjoy at the same time.

What Ultimate Destruction 2005 Brough to the Table?

The developer, Radical Entertainment thankfully listened to fanatic pleas and noticed the great difference between the movies and the video game and managed to cite the major problems. The result was a big difference between the Hulk 2003 series and The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction 2005 version.

Ultimate Destruction featured something of an open-ended structure, destructible moves, and a lesser cluster of phenomenal moves. The overall aspect of the moves made them simple, capable to master and enjoyable. The 2005 series places you in a genuine world designed for fans who love the Hulks destructible methodology over discretion. Some may say that the game has its flaws and I would agree but assert that Ultimate Destruction does a good job in making you feel like you are the Hulk. A fact I seem to think is enough to make those flaws forgivable.

The Ultimate Destruction Gameplay

When I think of ultimate destruction, I think of smashing everything to smithereens. I must agree that the game lacks plot at the beginning because you begin the game with Bruce Banner already transformed into the Hulk. I prefer it that way because I think an introduction of a plot would start the game on a dull and boring note. Its more a sense of relief that after completing my serious duties at work or school, I just want to lay back, kick it and get right into the action of smash.

Not to say that the game does not have a sense of adventure. After Hulk departs from his secluded abandoned church, he has access to story missions in the locations he jumps to denoted on the map area. The missions are categorized in the field of rescue missions, checkpoint races, and long jump competitions among others. The whole story will not take you more than nine hours. A great way to spend your weekend!

The Ultimate Outlook

Ultimate Destruction is not an easy game as it is set on a default difficulty level. Therefore, you would still get the challenging part out of it. The overall feeling about the game is pegged on a drawback most superhero games have. The controls are so hard in getting you to master the powers of the superhero. In the case of the Hulk, it is easier.

Pros

  • Easier and fewer controls to master

Cons

  • The AI can sometimes act up
