The Blood of Yidhra

With a cool setting, awesome visuals, and badass babe protagonists, The Blood of Yidhra is an awesome lewd 2D action game that managed to get its hooks deep in me. I really liked this one, and while I have certainly taken on board some of the complaints others have had with it. For the most part, this was a pretty epic adventure, and by the time I reached the end, I was shocked, as I was having so much fun, the game really did fly by. If you love the visuals and think the premise of the game is cool, I highly recommend that you give this game a try. To be honest, you can tell in about the first ten minutes or so if this is going to be for you.

Winning The Battle, Winning The War

While there may not be a whole lot of story at play here in The Blood of Yidhra. The idea is pretty cool. It takes place in a place called Yidhra, and to say that all hell has broken loose is an understatement. There is some kind of virus outbreak; think of Resident Evil 2 and what went down in Raccoon City, and you will be on the right track for what is happening here. We have a team of badass babes that are looking to fight to survive and also bring this horror to an end. I think that our core of characters in Delta, Futaba, and Maki are all really cool, although I do wish that they were fleshed out a little bit more.

By Hook Or By Crook

With The Blood of Yidhra being a 2D action game, I would say that it is like a middle ground between the likes of Contra and Bad Dudes, if that makes sense. The game starts us out with just a melee weapon, and you can cause absolute havoc with that. The melee combat in this game feels a little overpowered, as you can pretty much just steamroll anything that comes your way. It is honestly very satisfying to do this. However, the game also has some ranged weapons too, the first one you get being a crossbow. You have a thing where the first boss takes away your arrows and is super hard, but after this, the difficulty kind of takes a nose dive, and I found myself having no trouble plowing through the game. Hey, this is not me complaining; the combat felt very satisfying, and I loved just destroying my way through the game, but I did feel like the odds were heavily scaled in my favor.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

There are two aspects of the visuals that I want to talk about in The Blood of Yidhra, and I think that it is best to start with what most of you have come here for, and that is the lewd content! Our group of badass babes are all awesome and very easy on the eyes; they have that badass, military, warrior chick type thing going on that I am a massive fan of! The XXX content is a bit of a mixed bag. The stuff with the girls getting banged by the infected is well done, but it is not for me. However, the lesbian scenes that we get are just so freaking hot! I just wish that there was more of this than there was of the monsters banging the girls.

Off With Their Heads!

Nope, I am not playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and unleashing my inner Queen of Hearts here; I am talking about the other side of the presentation of The Blood of Yidhra that is not the XXX content, and it is awesome! I love the general art direction of this game; the ravaged areas of the city that the game takes place in, as well as the internal locations too, are all done with a lot of detail and look great. But what I really wanted to talk about here is the gore! This game is insane with the level of gore that it has, from blasting enemy limbs off to slicing off their heads! This game goes above and beyond with the dismemberment stuff, so much so that it would make Rick from Splatterhouse very happy! If you love gore, you will get a massive kick out of what they have done here. I was actually surprised by it, surprised in a good way, as it was so awesome and over the top!

Pros:

• The setting was cool
• The dismembering of the monsters was awesome!
• I liked some of the lewd content
• The game did not overstay its welcome, which I liked

Cons:

• The melee combat feels pretty overpowered
• The game could do with a little extra challenge
