Tarisland

Tarisland is a MMORPG that captures audience attention right away with its flashy graphics and smooth animations. The game features 9 different classes characters can play, and offers dungeons to fight in, maps to explore, and so much more. Characters can be farther customized outside their class through an extensive talent tree that makes each character unique.

Outstanding Visuals

Even the most critical of players has to admit the graphics in the game are top notch. Characters are highly detailed, maps are vast and varied, and there are many customization options. If the only thing that matters to you is the aesthetics of the game, Tarisland is definitely a great option.

One minor note—although the game has a variety of visuals, different classes are gender locked. If you want to be a certain class, you give up the choice of gender. This makes the variety in the game feel more constrained, even if there’s a decent amount of variety in skins and other cosmetics.

Gameplay Issues

Although the game looks promising on the surface, a closer look shows some problems that players should feel concerned about. Tarisland plays the game in seasons, a bit like Fortnite. The first season most players noted was alright, but the following seasons were riddled with problems.

Players noted they were forced to start at 40 with no explanation as to why, and exploration of land was cut off without warning. Essentially all the land they explored (and is still taking up storage space on their computer) is no longer accessible. Other problems noted include the English dub getting worse compared to the previous season, and many bugs including missing quests. These problems could possibly be resolved over time, but it’s very concerning and a rough start for the game.

Minimal Time Investment

Although there are some major concerns with gameplay in Tarisland, it’s not a complete flop as a game. Tarisland does offer a few bright points. One of the biggest is that unlike many similar games such as World of Warcraft, it doesn’t require huge amounts of time to be successful.

Anyone willing to sink 1-3 hours into the game each day can be successful in it. Those who want to play but don’t have enough time can get by through paying their way, but this can quickly get expensive due to the prices set in the game. Even a simple skin change is excessively expensive, which is a shock considering the skin really doesn’t do anything for gameplay.

A perk to the game is that even though there are items you can purchase for aesthetics or to make gameplay easier, they are not necessary to play. The game is free to play, with paying options as an option.
