Salvor Deep

I will be honest and say that I was not sure what to expect with Salvor Deep. I knew that it had a minimalistic art style and that the game had something of a slower pace, but I think for the right kind of lewd gamer, this could be something that they have a lot of fun with. The game is not super long, but it is unique and different enough that I think it more than stands out from the typical lewd visual novels and adult RPGS that are most associated with XXX games.

One Last Hurrah

When it comes to the story of the game, I think that the idea they have here is pretty neat. Salvor Deep is the story of a guy who is a salvor dispatcher, but they have fallen on hard times, and they needs to make some money fast. With the last bit of cash that they have, they hire a cheap but inexperienced salvor, and she is basically our hope of turning things around and making some money. Of course, you may or may not end up pursuing some kind of romantic relationship with this young woman. Sure, the story is not super deep, but I think it worked for what they were going for here.

Pointing The Way To Go

One of the things about Salvor Deep that is quite interesting is that the game is something like a point-and-click style of game. You simply point where you want your cute salvor to go, and she will go and explore that area, looking for things to salvage. However, in the deep, there are pirates and other creatures that want this stuff…. And her, too. You can get various upgrades, but these can slow her down in some places. Also, you may think that getting all the salvage you can is great, but this will also make her move slower. The game is very slow-paced paced and I found that even the upgrades did not speed things up all that much. This is the kind of game that sounds way more complicated than it actually is.

The Sounds Of The Ocean

While Salvor Deep has quite simplistic visuals, the gameplay is aided by the use of sound. From hearing her footsteps, the sound of swimming, and the creaking sounds of shipwrecks just waiting to be plundered. I thought that the sound design in this game was very cool. It not only sounded great, but it actually played into the gameplay, which is not something I can recall all that many other lewd games doing. As a matter of fact, I cannot think of another adult game off the top of my head (which is not some kind of rhythm game) that makes as clever use of sound as this game does.

On A Floppy For My Apple II

The presentation of Salvor Deep is pretty minimalistic as far as the gameplay goes, as it just uses simple shapes, and it leaves a lot to your imagination. However, there are some fun images of our salvor babe, and you, of course, get to check out some naughty scenes as well when you progress through the game. Now, there is no animation in any of the cut scenes, but I feel that, for the style that they were going for here, it works. The game is all in black and white, and there is just something about the visual style that reminds me of the good old Apple II. If this game were in green, it could perhaps pass for some kind of Apple II game.

Pros:

• I got a kick out of the retro style of the visuals
• If you love huge and inflated boobs and butts, you will dig this
• The game does not overstay its welcome
• I thought some of the dialogue was pretty witty

Cons:

• This is the type of game that is very much an acquired taste
• The slow pace did start to drag a little in some places
