It feels like an age since I played a good VR game so I was very excited when REQUISITION VR came across my radar. This is a VR survival game that looks like it will be absolutely amazing when played with your buddies. While it is the multiplayer aspect of the game that has me most excited, it does also have a story mode so there is still plenty for you people that just want to play this on your own to do as well. While this is an early access game, I wanted to get the word about this out there so hopefully, more people will check it out.

It Has All Gone To Hell!

The story of REQUISITION VR sounds very typical of your post-apocalyptic end of the world monsters and zombies all over the place kind of story. Hey, I am more than cool with that and this game seems like it is not taking itself too seriously and that is more than ok with me. It takes place in a city called Autumn that has seen a strange fog take over the place and turn people into monsters. You need to try and survive and if you do, perhaps you can figure out what really happened here to cause all of this chaos!

Duct Tape Is The Key!

As REQUISITION VR is a survival game, most of what you will be doing is running around and scavenging for supplies. There are other 300 items in this game that you can use and craft together to make cool and fun weapons that can put these creatures in their place. From what I have seen so far, there are lots of items hanging around so while things will be tense, with just a little bit of exploration or even just running from one point to the next, you will find something you can use to smash a monsters skull in with!

It Is Dangerous To Go Alone

If you want, you can play REQUISITION VR by yourself. There is a story mode which looks like it is going to be a great deal of fun and there is also a sandbox mode where you can just screw around, see how long you can last, and get a better feel of what the game is all about. You can also play through the game with your friends if you want where you can work together and try to survive this nightmare as a team. Or, you can fight each other as there is a PVP move in here as well.

A Certain Kind Of Charm

I will admit that REQUISITION VR is not the best-looking VR game I have seen. Still, there are a few different environments, you can customize your character and the monsters look gross and disgusting. There is just a kind of low budget feel to the presentation, but that is something I am ok with as it gives the game a kind of Evil Dead or a Grindhouse type of vibe that I think is cool.

I feel like VR game releases have really slowed down this year, that is perhaps why I am so excited for REQUISITION VR! It has a ton of potential and I know that early access games can be buggy, but there is still more than enough here to make this worthwhile checking out. I am sure the single-player content that is on offer here is going to be fun, but for me, the real draw of this game is going to be playing it with my buddies… when I talk them into buying it of course!

Pros:

I like the layout and look of the city the game is set in
The monsters have some interesting designs
The amount of stuff you can create to use as a weapon is crazy
The mele based combat has some real weight to it

Cons:

I am not sure how good the story is going to end up being, but it is showing promise
This is not the best-looking VR horror game I have played that is for sure
