Pawn Planet

Somewhere, in a quiet backwoods galaxy, is an empty planet ready to become the finest pawn shop in the universe. Players find themselves in the shoes of the planet's owner, as they strive to uncover treasures and sell finds at a premium.

Pawn Planet is a sim game with a sci-fi twist. Aliens from around the galaxy bring their goods and try to get the best deal for them. Your job is to keep them happy with what you offer, while at the same time not giving full value so you can sell the product for a profit.

Some items will need to be refurbished, which may require additional tools to do so. As you can imagine, alien goods require a few extra steps compared to earthly goods.

Variety of Gameplay

You can build up your pawn planet in several different ways. Besides repairing broken items and buying items from walk-in customers, you can also get items from storage auctions.

Storage auctions are something of a dice roll, with some storage rooms having nothing at all of value, and others being chalk full of treasure. You can also fly to other planets to search for rare items, or turn criminal and shoot up the storage auctions instead of paying for your space. Just like on planet Earth, there's a variety of ways to live your life, and a variety of consequences to go with them.

Similar to Other Simulators

Although Pawn Planet has a science fiction twist to it, it's a lot like other simulation games. You'll still have to clean up a ton of trash, and it doesn't always make sense why it's there. Who left all this mess anyway? Once you've picked up everything from popcorn bags to empty pizza boxes, you'll be ready to invite your first customers. The tutorial isn't quite as good as in other simulation games such as Grocery Store Simulator, but it does a good enough job to help you figure out what you are doing.

Very Buggy

Unfortunately, Pawn Planet has a few bugs that need to be straightened out. The repair machine glitched in one playthrough. This game is heading into Early Release rather than a full release, so it's likely these errors will be fixed.

Colorful and Bright Graphics

The artwork for the game is bright, colorful and fun. The developers make no effort for realistic skin tones and instead throw together creative aliens that are as interesting to look at as the products they bring.

The game is very enjoyable in that respect. No matter where you go in the game, you are bound to see a bright, beautiful, or unusual character, an unusual item, or a unique backdrop.
