Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition

Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition is a remaster, special edition, enhanced edition, or whatever the heck you want to call it of a game that was released a few years back on the PC. Now the game is being brought to pretty much everything with this new Doppelganger Edition that has gotten people who are into action platformers and rogue-like style games very excited. The art style may be what catches your eye at first, but it will be the trigger happy and deep gameplay that keeps you invested in the game long term.

Rise From Your Grave!

The story that is being told here is kind of we have risen from our grave and now we need to head into a dungeon to try and get a high score, gain followers, and maybe even right some of the wrongs from our past life. I have to be honest; I do not know what the heck is going on with the story. You are dead, you have awoken and you want to kick ass and that is the basics of what is going on here in Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition.

Mad World

The first thing I thought when I saw the graphics of this game was the Nintendo Wii game from Sega called, Mad World. The mainly black and white look of the game with a little bit of color here and there, mainly red works very well and is very eye-catching. If you have not already seen the trailer for this game, I highly recommend that you go and check it out as the art style is amazing, it is incredibly high quality and I love it. The pixel style of the game is great and even though there are a million games that use the pixel art style, this one has a cool style that helps it stand out from the rest.

Score, It Is All About The Score!

Each run is different in this game as you never know what is going to be thrown your way. Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition is the kind of game where at first it eases you in. The enemies are easy to destroy on their own, but when they gang up on you the crap hits the fan and skill really does come into play. You are basically playing to try and get the highest score for each run.

I found this very addictive and a lot of fun. Even more fun is the way that the game rewards you with extra points if you manage to go on a killing spree without taking damage. Add to this a card system where you can get buffs and so on and it is a lot of fun and it keeps you on your toes.

What Is Special About This Edition?

As Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition is an enhanced version of the game, you may be wondering what extra goodies have been included here. The first thing I want to talk about is that you can now sit side by side with a buddy and tear through the game in a fun local co-op mode. Also, the thing that I found the most fun was the arena mode where you are trapped in an arena and you just need to survive as long as you can. This is awesome and very addictive.
