America's favorite mouse duo stars in a great new adventure designed specifically for beginners and younger gamers. Mickey and Minnie hit the road in what's basically a junior version of Magical Quest.
Of Mice, Men And Mysteries
The performers at the circus are running amuck, and to figure out why, Mickey and Minnie romp across six easy action/adventure stages. Each stage is a different magical land, including a circus, jungle, castle, and caves. The background graphics and fine details, such as the icicles in the caverns, beautifully bring the magical stages to life.
In each stage the duo must steer clear of a crew of cartoon-style enemies and evade all kinds of obstacles. The enemies are easily dodged or dispatched with a simple hop-n-bop. What gives the game depth and makes it really fun is Mickey and Minnie's ability to change into different costumes -- a Sweeper Suit, Western Suit, and Safari Suit. Each costume gives Mickey or Minnie special abilities, helping them beat certain enemies or overcome various obstacles. Mickey or Minnie can swap costumes anytime; figuring out when to change is the game's main strategy.
Power-ups are scattered throughout and include life, health, and increased energy for Mickey and Minnie's weapons. The mice collect coins from enemies to purchase more power-ups.
- When you reach two large trees that you must climb, leap to the tree on the left and drop straight down to find a secret door leading to power-ups.
- To defeat the Stage 5 boss, vacuum the cloud with the Sweeper Suit until it vaporizes. Be alert and dodge the sporadic lightning bolts.
- When you reach a dead end in the Haunted House, swing from the hook on the ceiling to tilt the room. Repeat this tactic at every dead end.
Easy as Can Be
Circus Mystery's simple controls are geared for beginners. Easy button presses make the mice jump, swap costumes, and fire their popgun weapon or use the vacuum. M & M move well and are easy to maneuver around the screen.
The game's beautiful graphics give Minnie and Mickey's personalities, costumes, and mannerisms that elusive Disney magic. The costumes are charming, especially the Hobby Horse. The music and sounds are a little weak, with Mickey and Minnie's contribution limited pretty much to an annoying squeak.
Run Away to The Circus
Circus Mystery's a winner for beginning gamers and younger players. Easy game play, delightful graphics, and a clever use of costume-swapping strategy make it classic Disney fun.

As they go through the game they will get different suits that will give them special abilities. You can change suits at any given time during the game to get past certain parts.
This game has everything that it takes to be a winner. Everything from play to graphics is awesome.
Some players may think that this title is too cute for them.
This game is too cool to have an ugly. Even the bad guys are cute!

This is a game for your little brother. You don't want him playing this crappy game on your game system, believe me! Lousy controls and a total lack of replay value are just two of the low points this game has to offer. M - I - C... See ya later, you rat!

Was Mickey Mouse ever cool? I don't think so. I think if he ever had to match wits with Bugs Bunny, he'd end up stuffed in a rabbit hole.
Mickey has always been thrown at us as if he were the god of cartoon land. His popularity over the years has never ceased to amaze me, but I wasn't too surprised when he showed up in another video game.
This time Mickey and Minnie have had their visit to the circus thwarted by a vicious takeover. Goofy explains that the circus is in shambles. As Mickey and Minnie go to investigate the cause, the adventure begins. It's not much of an adventure at all. Mickey strolls through the game with a dumb smirk on his face. He tosses blocks at demented circus creatures, spins them around, and tosses them off the screen. When he loses a life, he looks at you as if to say 'whoops'. How cute can you get?
Control of Mickey is also a problem. While hanging in the air, you can move either left or right, doing the impossible. Mickey's different suits are difficult to change into, and doing so slows up the action. Even with these difficulties, the game is not challenging at all.
The only fun in this game is in finding hidden rooms and bonus prizes that add to your score and number of lives. Without these perks, the game would be a walk in the park - and a very short walk at that.
This is a game for your little brother. You don't want him playing it on your video system all the time, do you? That wouldn't be cute at all.
So you say you have not had enough puzzle games, eh! Well, just try to take on Mystery Circle for the Super Famicom! K. Amusement has done a spectacular job on this title. Although it looks like Tetris, there is more intensity to it. Beautifully detailed backgrounds add to the excitement!
Fans of Capcom's classic Magical Quest will find this new game just as fun. The colorful graphics and the ability to get new powers make this adventure a magical mystery indeed.
The title is actually a misnomer: There's not much circus in the Circus Mystery. Playing as either Mickey or Minnie, you hop-n-bop from the first circus stage to a dense jungle, haunted mansion, submerged caves, and more. As in Magical Quest, you switch between costumes(including a gun-slingin' cowboy outfit and a tree-climbing safari suit) to negotiate obstacles. Figuring out which costume to don is the game's simple strategy.
- Beat the Haunted Circus boss by Jumping over his flying mane and bopping him.
- The safari suit's climbing skill will help you avoid the Jungle's boss. Bop this big ape when he's under you.
The Genesis version of CCM is identical to the earlier SNES game, and both borrow lots of elements from Capcom's other Disney titles (such as Castle of Illusion). You still butt-bounce to dispatch enemies, dogpaddle underwater, and face bosses with simple charge-and-shoot attacks. The controls are generally effective, though Mickey's cowboy jump is a little hard to control, and he seems to fall off ledges too much when he's climbing in his safari costume.
Great Circus Graphics
As usual for Capcom's Disney games, the cartoony, colorful graphics are bright and imaginative, with nice subtle touches like snarling bosses.
The sounds are just what you'd expect in a well-crafted game, highlighted by enchanting music that constantly changes. However, the routine sound effects need to change with the times. How about some voices?
- Shoot the ghost only when his eyes are aflame.
- Climb the walls to dodge this Frozen Plains enemy.
Circus of The Stars
So Mickey and Minnie star in yet another delightful adventure. What else is new? Well, the limited challenge is. This game is much easier than Magical Quest or Castle of Illusion, and it's really targeted for younger gamers. The two-player mode is good for experienced players who are teaching novices. While it's too easy for veterans, beginners will find Great Circus Mystery as fun and gentle as a sunny day at Disneyland.
- Dodge Pete's blue rays, jump past his flying books, and nail him when he lowers his head. About a dozen hits will take him out.
- Switch to your cowboy outfit to gun down the dragon at the end of The Caves.
