Every day is a great day to play some horror games, but it becomes increasingly special about playing them the closer we get to Halloween. It's like getting the house ready for Christmas with some decorations. Everyone loves a good horror game, right? That's why we're talking about this cult horror game, or more accurately, its new version, this is Lust from Beyond: M Edition. This is a new version of the title that has changed things up quite a bit.

Now, we know that this is a new version of a previously existing game, but what is the game all about? And just as important, what makes this version different from the original one? Well, let's talk about it.

About the game

In Lust From Beyond, the player takes the role of an antiquarian that’s been tormented by horrible visions of a sinister, and dark land, where there’s no difference between pain and pleasure, your name is Victor Holloway. Tired of these visions and the dreams that haunt the dreams, Victor is determined to find out what’s hiding behind it all. And the way to do this seems to be to join the esoteric Cult of Ecstasy.

This might be a dangerous decision, as it will give Victor a taste of the blasphemous ways of life within the cult. And this will lead to the erasure of the lines between what's enough for pleasure. It will lead Victor to find out what happens when there's not enough pleasure in this world.

It will take Victor to the Land of Ecstasy, Lust Ghana, this is a different dimension, a world of lust, where there are dangers and hideous intentions hidden in every corner. Now Victor will have to face many challenges, solve many puzzles, and fight for his life if he wants to make it out.

A darker world

Lust From Beyond: M Edition is an interesting take on the cult game, changing some of its core elements to make it more suitable for horror fans. It removes many of the most grotesque and explicit content to change it for some more narrative and horror. This is an expansion of the Lovecraftian horror we've seen already in the core version of the game.

This is, in some ways a censored version of the original game, but at the same time, it can be more suitable for a general audience, and it could be preferred by most horror fans.

Lust from Beyond: M Edition is a more audience-friendly version of the original game. But at the end of the day is the same horror game fans knew and enjoyed, but less explicit. It is also still a walking simulator in many ways, similar to games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
