Lamento Beyond the Void

While Lamento Beyond the Void may have some truly gorgeous visuals, it was the story of the game that kept me hooked. This is a lewd gay visual novel that is just fantastic in pretty much every regard. It is one of those very rare visual novels that hooked me right from the start and did not let go until I got all the way to the end of the game. It was thrilling, daunting, a bit scary, mind blowing, and of course very erotic. If you have been looking for an awesome gay visual novel to play through, I cannot recommend this one highly enough.

The World of the Ribka

Lamento Beyond the Void has a kind of fantasy setting and I was sucked into this world right from the start. The people who inhabit this world are called Ribka and they are human like, but they have cat features like ears and a tail. They used to live in harmony, but things have been getting strange. Food is very scarce, there is some kind of illness that is wiping them all out and due to things being so rough, there is a lottery system in place where people are chosen to be eaten so that the rest of the people here do not starve!

Cursed And Then Eaten!

The main character that we play in the story of Lamento Beyond the Void is a young Ribka called, Konoe. Konoe is in for one hell of a rough time. You see, first of all, he has woken up and his ears and tail are a different color, meaning that he is the latest victim of this curse/illness. To make matters even worse, he has been drawn as the next person to be eaten by the rest of the Ribka! Kone decides to take his fate into his own hands and he flees, heading to a city to try and find a cure for the curse. Of course, along the way, he meets a few cute guys that will change his fate! This is just fantastic stuff and if you love fantasy and even a bit of horror, you will get a huge kick out of the story here.

The Choice Is Yours

There are several endings that you can work towards in Lamento Beyond the Void with various characters that you can get close to along the way. The way things ended for me during my initial play through if the game were pretty good and if that were the way that this game could only end, I would be satisfied. However, there are some other characters that interested me and I am very intrigued to see how different choices may affect things going forward. I felt that the game had the perfect balance when it came to choices. They did not happen all the time, but they did happen frequently enough that it made me feel like I was part of this story.

Cute Cat Guys In A Tough Spot

The whole catboy thing has been done before, but I loved the way that Lamento Beyond the Void went about it. These are not what I would classify as “furry” characters. They look far too human to be classed as furry characters in my opinion. It is really just the ears, tails, and colors of the characters. The whole world looks like something out of an epic fantasy based anime and I was very impressed with the overall style of the game. You do have a bit of voice acting which is good and I felt that the sound design in general was very well done. You do get some XXX content here which I also thought was of a very high quality.

• Some may not like the cat ears and tails
• It is a gay lewd visual novel so you will need to be down with that to fully appreciate it
