Trespasser puts players in the role of Anne (voiced by Minnie Driver), a woman stranded on The Lost World's infamous Site B. You'll explore the fully 3D island from her perspective, trying to find a way to escape.. .but not without busting a few dino heads along the way.

The goal here is total immersion. The physics engine is phenomenal. and the world behaves with uncanny realism: Structures topple, windows can be pried open, rafts can be built from fallen trees, and bridges collapse under extreme weight. You'll use real-world logic to solve the game's puzzles--not to mention 20 real, licensed firearms with which to pop hungry raptors. With the game's excellent depth, advanced A.I. (the dinos are motivated by hunger, pain, curiosity, and other emotions), and topnotch production values, prepare to be amazed--Trespasser looks nothing short of revolutionary.

Game Reviews

Like The Lost World for the PlayStation, DreamWorks Interactive's Trespasser looks gorgeous but has more control problems than a fly stuck in prehistoric amber.

Trespasser's dinosaurs look and sound realistic, but its horribly glitchy environments, random music, and unmotivated narration that frequently skips mar the show. Trespasser's worst travesty, though, is its interface. Accurately manipulating objects is impossible, and it's ridiculously hard to aim. Adding insult to injury, you can only stow one gun at a time and your inventory isn't persistent across levels.

Forgoing basic gameplay for visual spectacle, Trespasser commits inexcusable sins with its overall presentation. This time, the developers made the dinos extinct.

ProTips:

  • When you first encounter the T-rex, let him take out the raptors. Then get your shapely butt out of there!
  • After crossing the monorail, fiee the raptor until you reach the log on the hill-you'H find a gun up there Now watch as the raptor gets run over by the truck.
