I thought that Gyno Tales - Season 1 had a ton of potential, as the idea is something I thought was really clever. I played through the game, and while the premise of what the developer was trying to achieve was really neat, I think that, at under an hour, this is the kind of game that does make you question if this is good value for money or not. Still, I think that the idea of the game is more than enough to make you play it.
A Very Interesting Line Of Work
Look, I know this may sound strange or even bad, but I have always wondered how some people, especially men, get into the field of gynecology. Gyno Tales - Season 1 is a story about gynecology, and it kind of plays on this. To be fair, I would wager that 99.99 percent of doctors in this field do it because they want to help people, and there is nothing sexual about it for them at all. Still, it does make you think, and for me personally, I think the fact that this game tries to play the story here so straight makes it rather odd to play through.
A New Career Path?
The story of Gyno Tales - Season 1 makes next to no sense! We play the role of a guy who is kind of lost in life, but we do have a steady job in the world of IT. Our boss asks us to go to a gynecology office for a job and we somehow end up working there and checking out all the vaginas of the ladies in town…. And getting laid in the process. The translation here is rough as hell, and the story is trying to take itself very seriously, but the whole thing verges on parody, to be honest with you. I found myself having to re-read many parts over and over again as I was having such a hard time following what was going on here.
That Is Quite The Slogan You Have There
The presentation of Gyno Tales - Season 1 is not horrible by any means, and actually, it is probably the best thing that this game has going on for it. I got a real chuckle out of the way the official Steam page for the game says that you can “explore all kinds of pussies” and to be fair, the game does deliver on that. However, there are some parts of the visuals that are very well done and look pretty hot, but there are others that look very, very strange. The scene with the guy, wrist deep in a woman while he is giving her an exam, is one example of this. While I would have to say that the visuals were the thing I liked the best about the game, I would also have to say that they are very uneven.
A Rather Quick Exam
Thankfully, Gyno Tales - Season 1 is a game that is pretty much over before you realize that you are in it. I am not exaggerating here when I say that you can get through everything that this game has to offer in around 15 minutes. To be fair, that does mean it checks out before it completely overstays its welcome. However, the lewd visual novel gameplay here is very basic, and the way that the text sort of fades to white makes it a bit more of a chore to click through than it should be.
The backdrop of playing as a gynecologist is certainly a fantastic idea for a lewd game, and it is something that I think could work very well if done right. However, Gyno Tales - Season 1 needs some major work to realize its potential. Even though this game lasts under 20 minutes, the story is the biggest issue that the game has. It makes next to no sense, and it takes itself so seriously that it truly does feel like a parody sometimes! Still, if you want to see up-close and personal images of ladies' pleasure zones, this game certainly has you covered.
Pros:
- The game has a pretty interesting concept
- The premise of the story had potential
- Some of the visuals are good
- I could see this working with a bit more work put into it
Cons:
- The story is very, very hard to follow
- I am still not sure if this is supposed to be a parody
