God Eater 2 Rage Burst

I am a huge fan of this series and GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst is one of my personal favorites that the franchise has to offer. This was originally released for the PSP and the PlayStation Vita. This rage burst version I am looking at today was an enhanced version that cleaned things up a bit and also added in a nice amount of new content as well. In addition to being released for the PlayStation Vita, this would also see a release for the PlayStation 4 and the PC as well.

Stop The Aragami

GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst has a very anime style of story as you would expect. I do not want to go into spoiler territory here, but I will give you a heads up on the basic premise. The game takes place three years after the events of the last game. You are a warrior who is part of a team that is trying to protect Earth from these giant monsters called, Aragami.

The game has a kind of “Monster Hunter” vibe about it, but with a more anime twist. I really liked the story and while it is a direct sequel, I do feel it does a good enough job of filling new players in on past events.

So Much Choice!!!

I am sure that some people will see all of the weapon and character customization that GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst offers and find it a bit on the overwhelming side. To be fair, I feel that the game does a fantastic job of easing you into this aspect of the game. As well as having all of the weapons, abilities, moves, and so on from the standard game, Rage Burst adds a ton of new things for you to use in battle. Blood Rage is a new gameplay ability where you fill a bar and once filled, you can gain access to various buffs that can aid you in battle.

The title of the game, GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst is not just some gimmick. The reason it is called this is because of a new story chapter that has been added to the game. You get a bunch of fun and challenging new missions to take part in that move the story along after the events of the main game. As well as this, you also get some new weapons, characters, and enemy types that will test your fighting skills as well.

Aragami Hunter

Talking about this game and not referencing the Monster Hunter series is near impossible. It plays similar to that, where you have to fight enemies and score lots of new loot to make yourself and your weapons more powerful. It is a fast-gamed game I love how action-packed the fighting is, but while you can do a fair bit of hacking and slashing in this game, you do also have to think about what you are doing. There are many cannon fodder style enemies here, but some do require a bit more strategy in order to defeat them.

I think that GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst is a great game, it is even better on Steam as you get GOD EATER Resurrection with it! If you are a fan of the Monster Hunter games of games of that type, you are probably going to have a good time with this. I will say that it is very close between this and the third game in the series in regards to which one I like best.

Pros:

• I liked the whole anime style of the game
• You have a ton of choice in regards to how you fight
• I liked the new story chapter
• They added in a whole bunch of other content for this release

Cons:

• The story might be a bit jumbled for some people
• The load times can be pretty brutal
