Trust me when I say I was surprised to discover an actual series of Garfield games available. It makes sense, considering this lovable cat has entertained us for decades. However, I still needed to learn that there are published video games based on his adventures. Garfield Lasagna Party is the first I've seen; naturally, I have become intrigued.

The fact that this is the first time I've seen or thought about a Garfield game is either good or bad. The former suggests that tenderness, love, and care are put into a franchise video game, hence why they only come out sometimes. The latter means these games are so bad that they don't even blip on the radar. Let's find out which applies to Garfield Lasagna Party.

Don't Play on Mondays

Of course, I've had to dive deeper into the series of Garfield games to understand where these titles are emerging. There may be a reason I've never heard of them, and that's because the development and marketing power behind these titles seems minimal. However, that hasn't stopped the internet from making a total meme out of each release.

Reviews from the previous entry, which involved carting, all mutually agreed the game was life-changing. Even though it was the most elementary racer, you could think of. I'm getting the same vibes from Garfield Lasagna Party, a series of 32 simple minigames bundled together using Garfield characters and locations. Playing this game with the community critique in mind makes gameplay entertaining.

From a realistic perspective, Garfield Lasagna Party is one of the most basic party games you could get. However, taking the meme approach, you'll find it infinitely funny. Up to 4 players will choose a popular character and challenge each other to minigames to move up the game board. There are few thrills and spills, and it's almost a copy-paste job from other popular titles.

But alas, Garfield Lasagna Party almost knows that it's a meme at this point. Players will race in and say how it will save the gaming market, provide revolutionary gameplay, and be a canon classic for generations. No, the game isn't any of that, but let's abide by public opinion and think that it is.

As Good as Lasagna

By this point, I'm still trying to figure out where to stand at Garfield Lasagna Party. It's a game that's technically as minimal as you can get, but it's somehow entertaining. It's no Mario Party, as there's a lack of innovation, sharp edge, and creative gameplay. But still, you can already tell that it's going to continue with a horde of players coming in, giving it a 10-minute go and describing this transcendent experience.
