Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition

I have been gaming since the 80s and Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition is the greatest racing game that I have ever played. This is a must own game if you have an Xbox (and it is on PC too) and it is one of the big hitters for the 2021 holiday season. I will say that this is not a massive evolution from the fourth game in the series, but this does more than enough to make it the greatest game in the series so far.

Welcome To Mexico

A huge reason as to why I am so in love with Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition is the Mexico setting that it has. This is the most diverse location that has been in the Forza series to date. From lush jungles, sand covered places, and ancient Mayan temples. It is a massive map, the largest in the series and I found exploring to be more fun than in any other racing game.

Once again, you are taking part in the festival with a ton of races and missions to test your driving skills with. There is also a new Horizon Arcade mode that adds in a bunch of cool mini-games you can play with your friends.

Chicks Dig The Car

I do not think there has been a better looking game released this year than Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition. This series has always been a real looker, but this game takes it to a whole new level. I had seen images of this online before I played it and I thought it was a real life photo. The selection of cars is phenomenal with many of the biggest car makers in the world featured. You can earn lots of new cars as you progress through the game, but the most fun I had was finding the barns with the classic cars. Not only do you get a new car, but you also get some information about the Mexican car culture that the game is based on.

Walking The Line!

Many people are under the impression that this series is all about arcade racing, but that is not actually true. I would say that Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition and the series, in general, walks a very fine line between being arcadey and simulation. This is not something like Mario Kart 64 or one of the Crusin’ games. There is still a level of realism here, but it is done in a more fun way. It is a game that is easy to get into, but there is some skill required here. You will need to get to grips with the different styles of cars as different races will need you to drive different cars. Do not make the mistake I did in Forza Horizon 4 and just use all one car!

What Makes This Premium?

Ok, as we are talking about the Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition, you may be wondering what the extra few bucks is going to get you. Well, you got to play the game early, but that has come and gone. Still, the premium edition has some cool stuff for you. Included are a bunch of cool extras which are the welcome pack, car pass, VIP membership and you also get to play the two expansions when they are released.

I do not think that I can actually do justice to Forza Horizon 5: Premium Edition! This is a tremendous racing game, truly the best I have played and I really do wonder what they can do to improve on this!

Pros:

• This is the best looking racing game I have ever seen
• It has a ton of licensed cars to drive
• The gameplay feels fantastic
• There is just a ton of stuff to do in this game

Cons:

• It may not innovate enough for some people
• It can be a bit daunting to see all those icons on the map
