Echoes of Lust

When I started playing Echoes of Lust I thought for sure it was going to be just another Ren’Py visual novel game and while that for a portion is kind of true. I was happy enough what was done here to see it through all the way until the end. One thing that I do want to mention is that this is a game that is split into two chapters and as far as I know there could also be more later. For this review, I have just played the first chapter so please keep that in mind.

Where is Andie MacDowell?

Ok, so that is a really dated reference to start this Echoes of Lust review off with, but hear me out. You see this game is like Groundhog Day, you know the movie with Bill Murry. Except in this game the main character wakes up each day and wants to have some amazing sex with his family members, but apart from the incest stuff, it is just like the plot of Groundhog Day.

I thought this was a neat idea and the story actually works pretty well and makes you pay attention to things that worked and things that did not work. Each character arc is rather short, but I liked the way they played out.

Double Blink With A Double Head Shake

Ok, so I will be honest here. What made me decide that it was time to play Echoes of Lust was that I saw some gameplay footage on a… let’s just say adult website and at first glance, I thought it was real footage I was seeing. You see, this game looks fantastic, it is one of the best-looking Ren’Py games that I have ever played. The characters look great (especially the older sister) and I found myself finding everyone, even the dude and his horse-like schlong being very appealing and easy on the eyes. The realistic nature of the visuals works very well and I liked the bits of animation that were here too.

What Did She Say?

I was very happy to see that Echoes of Lust featured voice acting and it was quite good. I have played far more lewd visual novel games that do not have English voice acting than do and this one works great. The soundtrack is pretty forgettable, but the voice acting certainly does work well in regards to making the characters feel more real.

Over And Over Again

With the groundhog day theme to the story, you know what you are in for here. There is a bit of an open-world aspect to things here where you are free to move to various areas and then you have to interact with the characters. This is what drives the story and it is not always easy to know exactly what to do so things do not end too prematurely if you know what I am saying. It may not be groundbreaking stuff, but I had a good time with this.

Pros:

• I liked the three female characters
• This game has amazing realistic looking graphics
• It has English voice acting
• The Groundhog Day aspect of the story was interesting
• Plenty of choices for you to make

Cons:

• The “premature” endings can be annoying
• A few more camera angles would have been nice
