Chocobos are extremely popular, and everyone loves just how cute and quirky they are. Many people are used to using them always to race around, and now they will finally be able to have a game of their own, where you will get to control them and use them for racing in this brand new kart racing game. You will get to choose from many different Chocobo, and by playing through the campaign, you will unlock even more familiar characters for you to use. Unlock them all, and race away in Chocobo GP

Let's Go, Chocobo!

Chocobo GP is a kart racing game, where you get to choose your favorite Chocobo as a pilot, and you will also be able to unlock and use other characters from the Final Fantasy games. All courses are from well-known locations from the games, like the Golden Saucer from Final Fantasy VII, Alexandria from Final Fantasy IX, and Zozo from Final Fantasy VI. We saw Steiner, Moogles, Vivi, and some popular summons in the trailers, like Shiva.

The game concept is very familiar with other kart racing games, like Mario Kart. You face off against other racers and use your abilities to come out as the winner. You can use a power-slide to make tight turns with more ease, and it will also give you a speed boost. In the track, you will come across items known as magicite that you can get by driving through magic eggs, and you can use them to either help you or get in the way of the other racers. Also, each character has unique abilities, and you can also customize your vehicles before the race.

Race In Different Modes

There are plenty of game modes for you to pick. You can play through the campaign so that you can unlock all characters and courses, series races, where you play through 4 tracks in a row, and compete to see who gets the highest score. In custom races, you get to create your challenge by choosing the number of tracks and magicite. In time attack, you get to race against ghosts of others players, or your own, and see if you are faster than them. And the last mode is Chocobo GP, where you get to face-off against other 63 players in a tournament to see who is the best. You will be able to play some of these modes either locally or online.

Summary

Chocobo GP seems like a fun kart racing game, but some people quickly realized that some tracks in the game are incredibly similar to some in Mario Kart 8. However, most people don't care about that but are scared that the game will be too generic, that it might just be a rip-off of Mario Kart, but with some characters from Final Fantasy.
