Now, as I write this, we are still a little way away from the game being complete. However, this has so much charm that I simply had to get my thoughts on it out there. At the end of the day, if you love cats, you will appreciate what the developer is trying to do here.

The story of this game could not be any more charming! Cat Island Petrichor is the story of a young woman called Makoto who has come to this cat island for the summer to try and discover the secrets and mysteries surrounding this place. She is not going to be on her own, though! You see, we play the role of a little white cat, and we are going to use our…. Well, our cat powers and abilities, for lack of a better term, to help her on her quest to find out what is really going down here.

Some Interesting People Call This Place Home

In addition to discovering the secrets that this summer cat island place has, Cat Island Petrichor also has an interesting cast of characters for us to interact with, ranging from a shrine maiden to a mom running a diner. We get to meet these people, talk to them, and discover what they are all about, all of which may help us unearth the secrets of this strange island. So far, I am loving what I am seeing and the whole mystery aspect of this place, and what is really going on is something that has my attention big time.

Cat Paws Solve Cat Problems

This is a 3rd person adventure/puzzle game. In some ways, Cat Island Petrichor is a more chill version of the game Stray, now that I think about it. We control this strange little white cat, and we need to explore the island and complete various puzzles. These range from pushing a crate to the right place so we can climb to scratching our paws on the right tree. The game has a bit of a chill vibe about it, and the puzzles look like they have a nice sense of progression. It also appears that we will be expected to do a bit of light platforming and exploration as well. It is one of those games that seems like it is always going to have something for the player to do. While I am excited to fully play the game, I must admit, the prospect of being able to fully explore Summer Cat Island is very appealing to me.

Wait, Is This A Lewd Game?

Ok, so we have to talk about this, and it is kind of weird. For like 90 percent of what I have seen of Cat Island Petrichor, the game looks like it has a very summer and wholesome style to it. The island is very charming, the cats are super cute, and the characters all look awesome. However, there are parts that seem a little risqué, for example, the cat can look up people's skirts, and it also states that we can see characters in more vulnerable positions, such as being in the bath! I do not think that there is any full nudity in the game, or there is not in what I have seen so far, but there is definitely a little bit of lewdness here. However, despite that being said, the game still does have a very wholesome and charming vibe about it.

• The whole vibe of the game is cute and wholesome
• Yet, there is also a little bit of naughtiness here as well
• I liked the quirky characters that the game has
• Solving puzzles and platforming as a cat is always a fun time

Cons:

• As of writing, there is no concrete release date for this game
• I am not sure what the deal with the light lewd content is?
