Broken Heart Bordello

Oh man, you have no idea how much I wish that Broken Heart Bordello was a 10/10 game! This is an erotic visual novel game that does so many things right, but it does not know exactly what type of story it wants to tell. Still, the artistic direction they went with this game is fantastic and it is quite a long adventure so it is ideal for those that want an erotic visual novel game that they can sink a lot of hours into.

A Tale Of Revenge, Sex, And Handball

The story of Broken Heart Bordello could not have started any better for you. The main character, let's just call him Master. Has a very troubled past, his family was taken from him, he left home and now many years later he has come up with the perfect revenge. He sets his sights back on his hometown and those who wronged him and his family and he will make them pay.

That premise along with the way the game looks was enough to get me invested before I even started the game! The thing is, Broken Heart Bordello is a story that is all over the place. You would expect a revenge tale like this to be serious and moody and it is in places. However, it then has lots of comedy elements in it too and one of the later chapters is more about a handball tournament than anything else. I feel that the story is decent, but had they kept this all serious it could have been something amazing.

The Sin City Of Erotic Visual Novels

The first time I saw Broken Heart Bordello I was blown away by the way that the game looked. Seriously, this game is phenomenal in the art department. It has this black and white style and all of the art has this kind of rough look to the lines which I love and really makes it all seem very dark and gritty. This is accompanied by a pretty dark and moody score that fits the visuals perfectly. Seriously, if the story did not have the comedic elements to it, it would be even better.

The sex images that are in the game are just as well done as the regular images, but there are not as many of them as you would think. A very small portion of the game is actually “erotic” and these images are pretty spread out so you can go quite a while without seeing any sex in the game.

Getting Lost In A Good, Dirty Book!

Broken Heart Bordello is a visual novel game and there is a lot of story to read here. You are looking at well over 10 hours to get to the end of the current chapter and I do like that. I found the writing to be very well done and the translation from Russian (I think it was Russian) to English was done very well.

You can make choices as you are on your quest for revenge and handball supremacy. You can click on various parts of the screen to move the game along and in this way, it is your typical visual novel game and it does what it does very well.

Pros:

• I loved how rough and hard-hitting the game looked
• The black and white style of the game is so cool
• The soundtrack fits the images perfectly
