Belial Red

While basic, Belial Red is a lewd RPG that I did end up playing all the way through and I enjoyed my time with it. Yet, if I am being brutally honest. I must admit that I can see why there are some people who were not as excited about the game as I was. Anyway, as this is a game that does have a bit of a mixed reception online, I thought I would muddy the waters even more by adding my own thoughts to the mix!

A Lady Of Noble Birth

The whole premise of the story of Belial Red was something that I thought was pretty cool. Our main character is a woman called, Sheryl and the kingdom that she called home was called, Bluea and it was recently raided and taken over by the kingdom of Reda (red vs blue I guess) and rather than just be a prisoner, she shows off her skills with fighting and ends up joining the army! However, is she really on their side or out for vengeance? I think that the premise is very solid, but I was kind of surprised at how linear the story ended up being during my playthrough.

Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves

Sherly is not alone in Belial Red as she has other ladies that are fighting alongside her. I will say that out of the ladies we have in our party, Sheryl did end up being my favorite! However, we do also have Vanessa who is the type of chick that has a tough exterior, but a heart of gold, I also liked how she kind of resembled Regina from Dino Crisis! There is also, Elanor, who is the more timid one of the group, she actually grew up in an orphanage with Vanessa and sees her as a big sister, Elanor is the mage of the group. I actually prefer the small cast of characters as it helps keep things more focused.

A Straight Line Is Not Always A Bad Thing

Most of the criticism that I have seen thrown the way of Belial Red is in relation to it being a rather by the numbers RPG Maker style of game and to a degree I can see why some people have that feeling. This is a rather linear and basic turn based type of RPG. You can pretty much just plow through it without any real danger and while I can see that this would turn some people off, it was exactly what I was looking for at the time I played it. Managing my girls was easy, the quests always held your hand so you knew what to do and the progression system of the characters was very easy to get to grips with. If you want a light RPG and one that is not demanding too much from the player, this really is quite perfect.

So Much Lewdness

Even if the story does not grab you or if the gameplay is a tad on the basic side for your RPG skills, Belial Red is a fantastic looking game and I would think that the incredible lewd art alone will be enough to make most people keep on playing it. The “game” has your standard RPG Maker look, but the sex scenes and the character portraits are amazing! I do wish that the sex scenes were animated, but the game is very generous with the XXX scenes and I never felt like I was waiting too long for the next one! I could do without that infernal “internal” viewpoint, but I do know that some people like it.

Pros:

• I enjoyed the story, even if it was rather linear
• The gameplay was basic, but basic in a way that made it fun
• This game has some amazing XXX art
• Each of the three girls were interesting in their own way

Cons:

• Some people may find this way too simple and linear
• I wish that those amazing lewd scenes were fully animated
