Balance of the Force

It has been five years since Balance of the Force was first released and while I have had hope, even I have to admit that the game has been abandoned! It is a real shame too as this one had a ton of potential and the developer clearly wanted to make one of the most epic Star Wars porn games of all time and to be fair, I do think that they could have done this. Ultimately, this is a case where the game was just far too large for one developer to complete. I played the game again recently as one last hurrah and wanted to share my thoughts on it.

The Non Skywalker Saga

Let me start by saying that I freaking love Star Wars and any game like Super Star Wars that actually lets you play as Luke or a Star Wars: The Force Unleashed that lets you play as Darth Vader is awesome in my book. However, I have also loved Star Wars games that allow you to play as other characters and have their own stories that are not just based on the Skywalker saga. Of course, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is a shining example of this. In the world of Star Wars porn games, most do try and have stuff from the movies and shows in them, but this one was trying something different.

What Side Are You On?

Sadly, the story that Balance of the Force is trying to tell is certainly epic, but it is just far too grand in scale for a game like this. We play as a new character and there are many other new characters created for this game, but it is still set in the Star Wars universe. At its core, it is the classic story of an oppressive force trying to take as much control as they can and an underground group trying to rise up and fight for freedom. The idea of the story is that you pick which one of these paths you want to go on. The idea is certainly grand and to be fair, the execution of the story is not too bad, it is just far too ambitious for one person to achieve.

Stats To Grind You Have

Congratulations if you read that in a Yoda voice! The gameplay of Balance of the Force is a mixture of that of a lewd visual novel and an RPG. The majority of the gameplay happens by you making dialogue and action choices that will shape the path you are on. However, to give the game a bit more spice, there is an RPG system where you have several stats that you can build up depending on your action. I applaud the developer for trying to make this more of a “game” than just a lewd visual novel, but the stat grinding feels quite tacked on and I personally think the game would have been more enjoyable without it.

The Red Side Of The Force

Let me say that in the looks department, Balance of the Force is fantastic. It very much has a Star Wars vibe about it as far as the presentation goes. Not just in the characters, especially the sexy red Darth Talon looking chick that is the star of this game if you ask me. It is the locations and just the style of the game in general that give it that Star Wars vibe. I will say that I was kind of shocked by the lack of lewd content here. There are some sexy scenes and the female characters are certainly hot, but for a game that was many years in development before it was canned, there are not as many XXX scenes in the game as I would have liked.

Pros:

• The red chick is so freaking hot!
• I liked the Star Wars style story it was telling
• This was a very ambitious project for the developer
• It certainly has those Star Wars vibes fans will love

Cons:

• The game is abandoned
• It could have done with more lewd scenes
