Curve Games and Denki are pleased to announce that Autonauts vs. Piratebots will be released on Steam on July 28, 2022. To celebrate this news and showcase Denki's unique base building, management, and automation simulation and the next installment in the BAFTA Award-winning Autonauts franchise. Even though Denki is a small game developer, some of their previous games are pretty beloved by their fans. And they are known to develop some solid pieces, so it's always exciting to see what they are coming up next, as they are very varied in what they do. So, what is Autonauts VS Piratebots all about? Well, let's talk about it!

About the game

Autonauts vs Piratebots is a brand new game of automation and strategy for beginners and veterans alike. We will be the captain of our own destiny in this cloak-and-dagger simulation that features an in-depth campaign across procedurally generated worlds.

We will have to use creation, world-building, and RTS thinking to take back Autonauts settlements from marauding Piratebots, all while honing your Bots coding skills. If you're looking for a good challenge, there's plenty of room for customization here with both our ships and our bots.

One of the things that will surely get the player is how Autonauts vs Piratebots combines a lot of the artistic elements of the game with the coding in the Scratch style to make it accessible for all kinds of audiences. You'll even be able to use coding to command an entire army full of cute Autonauts and conquer the hordes of tough pirates. We'll use coding and automation to scour the world for resources, create industrious Workerbots and train them to become fearless Defensebots to combat the fearsome Piratebots. We'll also be able to build defensive walls and deploy armed towers to stop pirate raiders in their tracks, while retrieving essential new technology from the black-hearted Piratebots to drive them off the land while freeing our fellow Autonauts.

Super original

Even though there are plenty of elements we've seen on other games, and the visual are similar to games like Besiege, there's no denying that when you sit down to play this game you'll feel like it is something completely original. It has a lot of charm and looks really good. There's been many games that have tried to combine programming with building structures but never have I seen a game that takes place in space or that uses robots as the main characters. It's been a while since we've seen a game like this!
