Ashford Academy

If you liked lewd management games, Ashford Academy could be just what you have been looking for. This one has a fun premise, some interesting visuals, and the random nature of the gameplay means that no two games are ever going to be exactly the same. I fired this up one evening with the intention of just checking it out, but I ended up playing it for well over an hour as I was having a good time with it. If management games where you unlock lewd images are something you like, check this out.

Putting The Pal In Principal

The story of Ashford Academy may not be the best, but I think the premise alone is more than enough to, at the very least, make it interesting. The idea is that there is a very interesting academy that is home to a whole bunch of quirky female students, and we have just been appointed as the new principal of this place. We are tasked with making sure that the girls' grades start to improve, as well as managing things so that the academy can make more money and start to expand as well. You do get to know a few characters better than others, but it never dives too deep into specific relationships, mainly due to the gameplay.

Time Is Money

At its core, I would certainly say that Ashford Academy is a management game. You start each day, and you have three different time periods that you need to do something in, and you have to decide what you are going to do. There are different areas of the academy that you can go to, and each one will have different things that you can do. The theory here is that no two days will be the same, but there is still some grinding here as you have to build up the school's stats as well as make money. You do this, and you can buy more buildings to make the place bigger, which in turn will attract more students.

Rolling Back The Clock

I think that the idea of the gameplay in Ashford Academy is that of a pretty solid lewd management game. However, the events in the game are completely random, meaning some days, the three things you can get to do will be absolutely worthless and not lead you to progress at all, or even worse, they can actually all be bad and have a negative effect. You are encouraged to save before each new day so that you can roll your save back if this happens. However, I think the random nature of things here is perhaps a little too random, as it means that it can become frustrating. Plus, the random way things happen means that the story is also harder to get invested in. To be fair, I think this was a pretty good idea, but it could have been implemented a lot better.

Borrowing A Little

It was not until I had played Ashford Academy for about 20 minutes that I realized that many of the assets in the game were borrowed from other games, as far as the backgrounds go. The characters do look fantastic, but even then, I am not 100 percent convinced that I have not seen these ladies before. The whole game is basically you trying to do what you can to make the academy better so that you can unlock the CGs that the game has. To be fair, these do look good, but as I said, I am not sure how much of this is actually original art!

Pros:

• The premise of being a principal is fun
• There are some hot female students
• The random nature of things has potential
• For a little while, this is a fun time

Cons:

• The random way things happen can be frustrating
• I think a lot of this game is borrowed from other games!
