Airoheart

Prepare yourself for the story of Airoheart. A top-down action-adventure RPG that has taken a page from the books of the classics. In this tale, you will embark on an epic journey to battle evil and save the world from damnation in a quest filled with emotion, tragedy, and redemption. You will be battling through many unique enemies that will redefine everything you though you knew about this genre, as although it has hacking and slashing, that is, by no means, what it is all about. I hope you are ready for a fantastic new adventure, lets get into it.

Gameplay

The gameplay of this title is pretty straightforward, as a top-down action-adventure game, you will be travelling from place to place, battling hordes of enemies and solving puzzles. You will hack and slash with your sword, defend with your shield, and roll out of the way of attacks you can’t stop. The real-time combat has been excellently implemented into this title. Everything has been so well put together that it is easily as good as Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. On top of that, you have a large number of people to meet and speak to throughout the world who can offer you assistance, advice, or a kind word here and there. There are a few puzzles that you can find throughout the world while you travel along your journey, some of these are easier than others but I found myself pleasantly surprised by the variation in style and difficulty. If you are looking for a game that tries a few different things and really nails the landing on all of them, this is the adventure game for you.

Visuals

The visuals of Airoheart are pretty great. Visually, it is strikingly similar to that of Secret of Mana with its color palette and design choices. That is not to say its bad because that is also a stelar game. All of the different zones and environments in this game have been represented fantastically.

I found every step in this expertly crafted game to be thoroughly enjoyable and a perfect homage to how all the old games were designed. But it definitely runs much smoother and the gameplay is so much nicer. The ideal mix of classic and new.

Story

The story of this game has the player character Airoheart, travelling the world to stop his evils brothers plans of world domination and war. His brother? You ask. Yes, his own brother is the one trying to tear the world apart and ruin a good thing for everyone. Why would he do this? Well, that’s for you to find out so you best get to downloading and finding that out.
