I kept coming across A girl’s secret new life and it was the fact that it did not have the best reputation that made me want to try the game out. This is a life sim kind of lewd game and to be honest, I do not think it is as bad as many people make out. Granted, there are other lewd life sim games that do what this does better, but there was a certain charm about the pixel art here that made me want to see the four different endings that the game had to offer. Plus, this is super easy so it is not like it is going to be too stressful for you to play.

Making Money, Living Dreams

The idea of A girl’s secret new life when it comes to the story may not win the game any points for originality, but it more than gets the job done. We play as a young woman who has moved to the city and she is trying to make a go of a new life here. From finding a new job, finding romance, and finding a new place to live. Her story is in your hands as you decide what direction her life should go. To be honest, it is pretty standard stuff for a lewd life sim like this, but hey, why fix what isn’t broken and it more than sets the stage for what the game wants you to do.

In The End…. It Doesn’t Even Matter

Hey, nothing wrong with some Linkin Park at all, but that does actually make sense. There are four endings in A girl’s secret new life which will occur depending on the decisions that you make as you progress through the game. The thing is, on paper having a marriage ending, a cheating marriage ending, a sex slave to your boss, and a debt slave ending sounds pretty awesome, and that there is a good reason to play through the game multiple times. The thing is, the story no matter the path you decide to go down is actually quite basic and it has no real depth at all. It does make it hard to make you connect to our heroine if I am being honest. I just think that a bit more text to flesh things out would have been welcomed.

A Little Bump And Slow Grind

The grinding in A girl’s secret new life is certainly one of the main things that I read people had a problem with, but to be fair, it is no worse than what I have seen in other games. You have a bunch of stats that you need to build up to progress, but the game has several locations so at least you do not feel like you are in the same place the whole time. The thing is, the game is quite repetitive and with the story not really having much in the way of substance, I can to be fair, see why some people may have lost interest in the game and decided that it is not for them.

Is The Pixel Juice Worth The Pixel Squeeze?

I am someone that loves lewd pixel art and I think that the whole style of A girl’s secret new life is just so freaking charming. The characters made me chuckle with their pixel chibi style, especially the old creepy boss. The lewd content here is ok, there are a couple of actual sex scenes that are done with 2D art, but they are rather basic. The real charm and style comes from those 2D pixels. I liked the different areas and in all, the game is very charming and easy on the eyes. The thing is, the XXX “reward” you get for the grinding is something that I am not sure is going to be worth the effort for some people.

• The main character has a certain charm to her
• I found the pixel art to be very charming
• You can get into a kind of zen-like state when playing the game
• It is honestly nowhere near as bad as some people are making out

Cons:

• The story is very lacking
• There is not much in the way of substance here at all
