Just when I thought I was out, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight sucks me back in! I would probably be embarrassed to tell you the number of hours I have put into WOW over the years! It was a game I was hooked on when it was first released and while my interest comes in waves, this latest expansion is something that has me very excited and today I want to share with your guys some of the coolest new features this is offering.
The Wonder Of The Dragon Isles!
With a new expansion comes a new area and World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the most excited I have been for an expansion since Mists Of Pandaria. This is not just one big place, it is actually divided up into five different zones which are, Waking Shores, Ohn'ahran Plains, Azure Span, and Thaldraszus. From what I have seen the variety here is great and the typical fantasy stuff you would expect from WOW….Didn’t I say there were five? Well, yes, there is also The Forbidden Reach.
The Dracthyr
You knew that there was no way Blizzard was going to give us a new expansion and not have a new race. The new race in, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is called The Dracthyr and they also have a new class that is exclusive to them which is called, The Evoker Class. This class also offers you two specializations that you can utilize. I am sure that most people who come into this will jump right in with The Dracthyr!
Changing With The Times
Now, as much as I have loved most of the expansions, if I am being honest, for the most part, while they may add new locations, races, classes, and so on. For the most part, the core experience does not change. I feel that, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is one of the more significant updates in quite some time. To start with the level cap has been upped to 70 and the UI and the skill tree has also had some work done on them. I feel that this is going to go a long way toward making this feel more like a new experience than just another expansion.
Dragon Riders Unite
If there was one aspect of this expansion that had me the most excited it was the Dragon Riding. I am surprised this had not been a thing before, to be honest with you. You can raise a dragon and you can decide how you want it to be. In terms of what it is offering you and also what it looks like. The flying system has been revamped big time to make it feel more intuitive and dare I say “arcade like” to make it more fun for players. As they have made it more fun, it will make Dragon Riding be something people really want to do.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the most excited I have been to jump back in and play some WOW in a very long time. I actually wondered if this was a series that had perhaps passed me by. However, the Dragon Riding aspect is something that is just so cool to me and something that I feel is going to make me really want to sink my teeth into this expansion and stick with it for the long haul. Now, I just need to try and convince my buddies who dropped off from the game that they need to get back into it too!
Pros:
- This is such a cool setting
- I love being able to raise and ride a dragon
- There is a new race that we can play as
- As well as offering a new race, that race also has an exclusive class
Cons:
- I cannot see this winning any non WOW fans over
- Is it time for a completely new WOW experience rather than an expansion
