Stepmom

While Stepmom has a rather generic sounding name for a lewd title, after reading the premise of the game I thought that it sounded like it could have a lot of potential. I ended up plowing through the game in my first sitting and while I can see part of the reason for the game having a bit of a mixed reputation online. I still had a bit of fun with this lewd visual novel and I have to say that I would like to see the developer take another stab at this, perhaps with a bigger budget they could really make this something special.

A Not So Wicked Stepmom!

The plot of Stepmom is that our main character is a bit of a loser dude who lives on his own. He has a real problem with jerking off. He has never actually been with a woman, but obviously has a fantasy about this and this is what leads him to be pretty much addicted to yanking his crank if you know what I am saying. One day he is giving himself the tugging of a lifetime when the door opens and his stepmom catches him in the act!

Why Did He Give Her A Key?

Turns out he forgot that he gave her a key (or maybe getting caught was his plan all along?) and she is shocked at first, but as this game is actually titled, Stepmom, you probably already know what is coming next! She ends up pretty turned on by seeing her stepson jerking off so decides to teach him the ways of sex with a woman. It is a fun fantasy concept and one that if the translation was a bit better, I am sure would be fun and also kind of hot. However, it all has a kind of robotic style to it here.

Hey, It Happens To Every Guy!

The speed at which you get to the action in Stepmom is really fast. The lewd content here is decent enough, but there is not much of it. There is not actually much to the game at all as, after 20 or so minutes, you have pretty much seen all that the game has to offer. It is kind of weird that it has save states as I am not sure who could not finish this in just one go. Still, a lewd visual novel being short is not always a bad thing and due to the rather basic story and the translation not making it all that exciting, I think the short length does benefit the game.

Going Straight Through!

One of the things that may be off putting about Stepmom for some people is the lack of choices. This is not the kind of lewd game for those that like to make many important choices and see the story play out in different directions. This is 100 percent a linear kind of story and you are going where the writer wants you to go. To be fair, if the story had a bit more flair and excitement, I think that they could have had something here.

Pros:

• I liked the stepmom
• The story has a fun fantasy thing going on
• Some of it is funny, even if it is unintentional
• The sex scenes are decent enough

Cons:

• There is pretty much no actual gameplay here
• The game is very short
