SimplePlanes 2

I was a latecomer to the original game, but now I am here right at the start for the epicenes that is SimplePlanes 2! This takes what made that first game so great and just expands on it in every way you could imagine. Honestly, I am not sure that my little review here is going to be able to do justice to the insane amount of content that this game has to offer. It is honestly mind-blowing with how much stuff they were able to cram in here! Ok folks, strap in as we take a closer look at why this is up there when it comes to the best games of 2026!

The More You Know

Despite being around ten years old when I discovered it, I loved the original game, and SimplePlanes 2 is offering that same kind of creative gameplay we had before. The idea here is that you can build not just planes, but land vehicles too. You have lots of parts to use and snap together and then you get to see if your contraption can actually move, or if it can move, if it is actually able to be controlled. This is for those of you who love creative games like Minecraft or even something like Pokémon Pokopia to give you a more modern example of what I am trying to get across here. Actually, I used this when I talked about the original Simpleplanes, but the creative stuff you can do in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a great comparison.

By Land Or Air

While the title of the game is SimplePlanes 2, I must admit, for me, creating land vehicles is where this game shines! I got addicted to making cool cars that I like from TV and movies, my greatest achievement being making the Thunderhawk from M.A.S.K., as well as a rather crude-looking selection of Transformers-style vehicles. The actual creation of your vehicles here is even more in-depth than it was last time, but I think the game runs a lot better and is much smoother to control. I played this using a mouse, but I did mess around with a controller too, and I was very impressed by how well it controlled. You get to build your vehicle, and then you can also color it as well; you can even use decals, which is key when you want to make some kind of vehicle based on a game, movie, or whatever.

A Whole New World!

Once you built your stuff in the original game, it was fun to try and fly it and see if you were as skilled an engineer or mechanic as you thought that you were. With SimplePlanes 2, they have actually created a pretty large open world that you can mess around in as you put your contraptions through their paces. This is an absolute game-changer, and once I started messing around with my creations, it made me realize that this was the thing that was missing from the first game. Sure, you could play around with what you made, but having a large open world as we have here truly does let you appreciate or laugh at the things you and your friends have made. Speaking of which, the community here is awesome. If you're struggling, you can always download something else that someone more talented and patient than you has made.

Chaos With Friends

If you love to play stuff like Minecraft with your friends, SimplePlanes 2 is about to be your next big addiction! This is amazing, you can race with each other, blow each other up, or just hang out, and even try to make things together. This is where the game really shines for me, and there was one session where I had to call it at about 2 AM as I am sure we would have still all been playing until one of us had to go to work in a few hours! This is a very, very addictive game, and while it is a whole lot of fun to screw around with on your own. There is just so much to do here with your friends now that if you guys get into this, honestly, it may be very, very hard for another game to pry you away from this!

Pros:

• You can create pretty much anything you can think of
• I loved making stuff from movies, games and TV shows
• This is the most addictive multiplayer game I have played in years!
• They are still adding more stuff to the game as I write this!

Cons:

• This makes the first game 100 percent irrelevant
• This is going to take up all your gaming time!

Simpleplanes 2 is a 3D vehicle management simulator, in which players will have the opportunity to fly an airplane, if suddenly in real life they have not saved up for their own. However, before flying or driving (in the game there is also an opportunity to drive tanks and cars), the vehicle must be assembled by yourself in a special workshop. The main difference from the original Simpleplanes game is that the workshop is replenished with new reinforced devices for your experiments! But that's not all. If earlier you used ready-made tracks and runways to test the assembled units, now you can design and build them yourself. For this purpose, the developers created a separate tropical island - and now you will be able to take off from special platforms above the water surface.
