While Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey may win the award for the longest title of any video game released in the last decade. This is a charming, fun, and wacky game based on the popular series. I first saw the series back in the early 00s during my college days and I got a massive kick out of his antics and I feel that this game captures that perfectly. Also, this is a great game to play if you are in the mood for something chill and relaxing to play.
Bringing Two Worlds Together
One of the things that is interesting about Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey is that this game is a mixture of two things. We have the Shin-chan series which of course is a manga, TV series, and even a few different video games. However, it is actually a game based on the popular Japanese series, My Summer Vacation which has never really caught on in the West. I would say that this blend of two series is similar to what we got with Doraemon Story of Seasons a little while back.
A Summer Vacation Through Time!
If you are a fan of the wacky world of Shin-chan, you will love how weird the story in Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey is. It captures the whole vibe that this little kid has perfectly. Basically, the father has to go away for work and Shin-chan and the rest of the family are tagging along with him for a summer vacation. While here, he is given a camera, but this camera takes drawings instead of pictures. Shin-chan tries to get stories for the local paper and seeing the world through his childlike eyes is so much fun and a bunch of weird stuff starts to happen such as a freaking dinosaur showing up.
Summer Time Of Your Life
The gameplay of Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey is very fun. We play as the little 5 year old Shin-chan and we basically get to go on all kinds of adventures. The game is mostly about exploration and you have to fill out your scrapbook with the adventures that you go on. One thing that I like about the game is that you are pretty much free to tackle things the way you want. There is a narrative and an order to things in the story, but it is far looser than you may be expecting. It is like a cozy and relaxing game that is perfect to play when the sun is out, but you want to stay inside and play video games.
Flipping It On Its Head
If you are familiar with the manga or the show, Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey is going to make you smile! They have captured the look and feel of the show really well here and even if you are not all that familiar with the show, you will be able to get behind the idea of seeing the world through the eyes of a kid. It kind of takes you back to when you were a kid and your imagination would run wild as you played during the summer months. I do think for those who are not familiar with the series may find the twist during the game a little bizarre, but that is what this series is all about so it is very fitting.
Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journey is charming, it is fun and it will make you laugh. While this is a relaxing kind of game, I also loved the way it kind of made me feel like a kid again as I remembered how much fun I would have during my summer vacations. If you are in the mood for something fun and something that captures the summer vacation vibes you used to have as a child, I cannot recommend this game highly enough.
