Secret Summer

When I come across a lewd visual novel like Secret Summer, that one, I have not played before, and two, I have never played before, but people seem to like it. I am always going to check it out. I was pretty happy with this one. I ended up having a great time with it, and I loved the fact that this was not some unfinished game; it is actually complete, so you get the full experience. I will say that this is a little bit of a time sink, so make sure you have the time to give it a fair shot before you start to play it.

I Hear Her Voice

The story here in Secret Summer is actually pretty interesting and well-written. We play the role of a guy who, for the last few years, has been living away from the rest of his family. The reason for this is that our father wants us to learn the family business. However, after a phone call with our family back home, we miss our sisters and other family members and decide to head home for the summer in order to reconnect with them. This is pretty fun stuff, and I think the pacing of the story is very well done, as I never felt bored when I was playing the game.

Connecting With Cute Girls

There are several what I would call main characters you interact with in Secret Summer. What I liked about this and what made me want to keep on playing was the fact that the characters were all really unique in the way that they are written. You truly feel like you are getting to know them, or in the case of this game, reconnecting with people. I feel like they hit the sweet spot here with having enough characters to keep things interesting, but not at the expense of there being so many that it is hard to keep track of people.

One Point For The Right Answer!

Look, at the end of the day, Secret Summer is a lewd visual novel, and that means that most of the gameplay here is going to be you making various decisions to move the story along and also make these connections happen with the character. However, there is also a points system at play here. When you are given a choice, sometimes there will be a point next to a decision. The idea being that in order to get the sex scene and build a stronger connection with the character, you need to earn so many points. I am not going to oversell this and say that it is this super deep gameplay system. However, it is a neat addition and something more than you usually get with a visual novel like this.

These Are My Gals!

The more realistic art style that they have gone for here is really cool, and it clicked with me right away. Not only do the characters in Secret Summer have unique personalities. The developer made sure to make it so each of the characters had a unique design, as far as the way that they looked went as well. Of course, the XXX content here is what we are all here for, and that is very well done as well. Granted, this is more a case of still images than fully animated sex scenes, but they look great, and the more realistic-looking characters can help get you more immersed in the XXX action.

Secret Summer is an erotic adult dating simulator game. It is a visual novel format game, similar to games like Picture Perfect and Hunger for Chaos which are also released by the same developer.

Story

The game follows the story of a guy who was taken away from his family by his dad, John to be trained and mentored in his family’s successful business. Upon hearing his mother, Norah cry during a phone call, he decides to head back home to meet his mother and sisters after coming up with a getaway idea. But he finds out that ideas don’t always turn out the exact way you plan them.

The story is told through words that scroll on the screen. The game allows you to make story choices that change the story to suit your desires. The problem with the story is that it feels too fast-paced. It doesn’t give enough time for relationships to build up before trying to initiate sex. So, it feels awkward or forced at times.

Gameplay

Secret Summer uses the first-person point of view for a more realistic game. So, you can see all the other characters in full but you can’t see yourself in full. You can only see your lower body. The game features sexual genres of milf, big boobs, incest, masturbation, lesbian sex and more. The graphics look good. The character modeling is good with alternating facial animations that are well done. The characters wear clothing items that fit their personality and their unique looks.

Characters

The game features a diverse array of characters. You have the oldest who is Norah that likes taking care of everyone in the family. You have Zoe, the argumentative and disproving lawyer. You have Irene, the classy, high-maintenance girl who everyone stays away from, Kelsey, the playful 19-year-old high school graduate, and finally, the videogame loving Coral who hates you. In a previous version of the game, you had a twin brother with whom you competed for the attention of the ladies.

Game Updates

The game is still in development. It hasn’t reached version 1.0 yet, so you can expect a lot of updates from the developer. The updates often contain new story chapters, new music, new dialogue, improvements to the game menu and graphical user interface, better graphics, better lighting effects, new environments, bug fixes etc. Updates are released almost every month.

Mods

You can download a mod for Secret Summer that adds an in-game walkthrough for the game. The mod also adds a scene replay gallery that allows you to view pictures from all story scenes.
