Pleasure Delving

It may be short and basic, but I had a fun couple of days playing through Pleasure Delving over my recent break from work. This is a lewd dungeon crawler with rogue like gameplay and it is the kind of game that is ideal if you are in the mood for something that is very easy to play and not asking for you to think too much. For me, it was a kind of chill out game, a game that was very easy to relax with as I was playing through it. While I enjoyed it, if I am being honest, I can see why it may be a bit too basic for some people.

What’s The Story Morning Glory

The story of Pleasure Delving is not exactly super deep, but to be fair, I have played a million (well maybe not a million) dungeon crawlers over the years that do not go all in on their story so I will not be too harsh on things here. We are an adventurer and we are looking for loot and treasure on our latest dungeon crawling adventure. I am glad that there is not some kind of forced story or narrative shoved down our throats here as the game really does not need it.

It Is Dangerous To Go Alone

While we are a brave adventurer, as the Beatles once said, you need to get by with a little help from your friends, and that rings true here in Pleasure Delving. You have three characters that can be added to your squad as you progress and each one has a different look and personality. While there is not a ton of writing here to flesh things out, I did get a kick out of the way that the characters would talk to each other, there was something kind of cheesy about it and I got the impression that the developer was just having fun as they wrote this stuff.

A Choice At The End of a Path

The gameplay of Pleasure Delving is very basic when it comes to its dungeon crawling, rogue like mechanics, and combat. The dungeon crawling has a cool old school vibe about it and ever since I picked up Swords and Serpents on the NES on a whim with my Christmas money from Christmas 1991, I have had an interest. You just walk down the corridors and you will eventually be given a choice of taking some loot or entering combat. You are always looking for loot to make you stronger or improve the gear you already have. Combat is automatic and it is a tad on the slow side, but the better gear you have and the stronger you have become, the quicker you will vanquish your enemies. There is honestly not a great deal to the game, but in the few hours it takes to see it all, it is a fun and very chill kind of experience. However, I can also see why it may be too easy, too basic, and dare I say, too boring for some people.

Where Are The Boobies In This Dungeon

While Pleasure Delving is certainly classed as a lewd and adult game, I never actually came across a ton of lewd content while I was playing it. The characters are cute and very suggestive in what they wear and the positions they are shown in, but this was not the hardcore banging fest that I thought it was going to be. The game has a kind of retro charm to it, almost like a PlayStation 1 or perhaps an early PlayStation 2 or a Dreamcast vibe and that is meant in a complimentary way. What is here looks good enough and I thought there was this kind of indescribable charm about the whole thing.

Some of the writing did make me chuckle There are some interesting looking characters I liked the chill vibe that the game had This is not a game that asks a great deal from the player and I appreciate that
