Nightcall Sex Dojo

Some porn games can be genuine works of art, using their adult content as a “spice” to enhance their already superb gameplay mechanics. Some others would just happily let you live out your fantasies without bogging you down with things like “plot” or “gameplay.” Nightcall Sex Dojo falls under the second category.

This rather direct game follows the intense love life of a nameless, featureless protagonist and his rosy mate. All you need to do is show her a good time. Sounds simple, right? That’s because it is. The game is just you and the girl of your dreams trying out different positions and toys – and for some players, that’s all you need.

A Dojo to Die For

With a name like Nightcall Sex Dojo, I was honestly expecting some sort of grand kung-fu story with some breasts thrown in. Think of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 but with more fighting and less beach volleyball. What I got, however, was one of the most straightforward sex simulators I’ve ever seen.

Now, don’t get me wrong: there’s nothing fundamentally broken in this game – it’s just that the developer could have played a bit more with the setting and characters. As it stands, this is more like a demo for something bigger than a complete game. And that’s perfectly fine for a game like this.

Silhouettes in Display

Something that immediately caught my eye in this game is the main character. Now, I know that his “mate” is the star of the show, but why make the main character a black silhouette? It looks like those cutscenes you’d see in Danganronpa, but it looks completely out of place in this game. Well, mostly out of place, really.

One thing you’ll notice is that the game feels – for lack of a better word – odd in some parts. It’s something to do with the overall atmosphere and the character models, I think. It’s not unplayable, but it certainly doesn’t feel like a “sexy” game, is all I’m saying. While games like Summertime Saga make an effort to present their kinky themes with some style, Nightcall Sex Dojo does the complete opposite. It almost feels like a horror game at times.

Positions and Decisions

The game is all about discovering new poses and toys to play with your mate. Using new positions unlocks more rooms in your dojo which, naturally, means you’ll have more places to enjoy some intimacy with your partner. That’s the whole gameplay loop, essentially. Whether or not you enjoy it boils down to personal preference.

Even the most repetitive porn games, like Akabur’s Princess Trainer, suffer from the same repetitive gameplay. It’s almost unavoidable in a game like this. However, even those games have multiple partners for you to enjoy. Nightcall Sex Dojo could benefit from some variety. As long as you love the red-haired mate at your disposal, you’re going to love this game.
