Nameless ~The one thing you must recall~

The fact that Nameless The one thing you must recall says it is aimed at female audiences only made me want to give it a try even more. I am a big fan of visual novels and this one had a very interesting premise and to be honest with you the fact that it was not a lewd visual novel was something that did actually appeal to me a great deal if I am being honest with you. I finally got round to playing the game over the last weekend and I managed to see a few of the different endings so I thought I was now ready to share my thoughts on the game.

Eri And The Dolls

The main character in Nameless The one thing you must recall is called Eri. Eri is a bit of a strange girl, but she does have many issues. Her only real escape and the way she deals with the loneliness that she feels when at home (her parents are never there) is with these dolls that she has a collection of. She talks to them, confides in them and loves them, and treats them like family. Well, wouldn’t you know it, but one day the dolls come to life!

Ripping You Out Of The Comfort Zone

What I just described may sound like this is going to be a fun visual novel/dating sim kind of game, but that is far from the case. Yes, Nameless The one thing you must recall has a lot of heart and there are moments that can make you smile and really make you see the good in some characters. However, this game deals with some pretty brutal issues such as abuse, abandonment, loneliness, and more. It really does make some parts hard to play through, but the writing is so good, it keeps a hold of you the whole time as you want to see if she is going to be alright.

More Than Just Words And Emotions

There is a lot of reading for you to do in Nameless The one thing you must recall, but there is a very well done Korean voice track that goes along with it. You need to pay close attention to the story as you get to make some pretty major decisions as things move forward. To keep you on your toes, you do also have these mini-game type segments as well which I found to be a lot of fun and add a bit of variety to the game. You do also have a number of ways that the story can go, some heartbreaking, some that will fill you with hope, and others that are just really dark.

Pros:

• Eri is such a compelling and deep protagonist
• Each of the love interests has their own interesting personality
• This story can be brutal, but it can also be beautiful too
• I lived the way the art in the game looked

Cons:

• Some of the subject matters are kind of hard to deal with if I am being honest
• This is a game that does demand you pay very close attention to what is being said
