By now, VR is more well-known for its porn games than its contributions to mainstream gaming. Whether that’s good or bad is really up to you, but games like Hentai Room: Deep Galactic Penetration (that’s a pretty name) at least showcase what VR tech can do in terms of immersion.

In this simulator, you play as a “scientist” of sorts conducting tests on buxom femmes aboard a space station. Naturally, most of this research involves bodily fluids and rhythmic movements. Trust me, it gets rather perverted rather quickly – which might be a plus for those who just want to get to the good part without wasting too much time on things like “plot” or “characters”. Who needs those anyway?

Future Technology

From the presentation to the character models, the developers of Hentai Room: Deep Galactic Penetration had a clear idea of what they wanted their game to be. Don’t expect any sci-fi shenanigans or anything like that beyond the surface-level presentation, though.

In VR games, presentation is everything. That’s the reason why seemingly barebones projects like VrChat or Virt-a-Mate have achieved the success they enjoy. However, when it comes to Hentai Room: Deep Galactic Penetration, it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

Space Babes and Other Creatures

Character models look pretty enough. There’s a clear attention to detail here, and that’s to be expected in a porn game. It’s not on par with Honey Select 2: Libido, sure, but it gets the job done. Body physics look great (for the most part) and there are quite a few animations to choose from.

That said, once you look past the bouncing orbs and shaking rumps, what you find is a game that looks almost like Soul Calibur III did back in the PS2 days. That’s not a negative, though – if this game came out almost two decades ago. By today’s standards, Hentai Room: Deep Galactic Penetration looks like a retro game that was ported to VR, and that’s not a great impression for those looking for an immersive virtual reality experience.

Atmospheric Delights

My favorite part of playing VR Chat is just finding a cozy map to chill in for a bit. VR is really unmatched when it comes to capturing unique vibes that make you forget about the lousy “reality.” Something I wasn’t expecting at all is that the level design in Hentai Room: Deep Galactic Penetration is just what players like me might be looking for.

Under all that porn lies a deeply atmospheric game that lets you roam around a cozy space station. Pair that with the soothing narration (yes, there’s some narration) and what you get is an incredibly relaxing deep-space experience. And when you’re done with that, there are some Asian babes lusting for attention. For most players, I bet that sounds like a win-win situation right there.
