Heaven Will Be Mine is a very popular lewd sci-fi visual novel, well I say lewd, but I feel it is more of a romance story than just straight up sex, but I am an old romantic so what the hell do I know? This is one of those rare games where I do not know anyone who has played it that has a negative opinion of it. With multiple characters to play as and different outcomes, there is a lot of replay value here. It is a visual novel that is just so much fun to talk about with others and it has a very strong LGBTQ message which is great.

Space Is Not Quite The Final Frontier!

Talking about the story of Heaven Will Be Mine is a bit tough as on paper it sounds weird and is hard to make sense of, but when you are in the thick of it, you get so invested. The game takes place in an alternate history where in the early 80s mankind tried to head to the stars to find a new home. Humanity eventually splits into three factions that were at war without other for supremacy of space, The Memorial Foundation, The Celestial Mechanics, and Cradle’s Graces. It makes for a thrilling and engaging sci-fi story that is told so well that you get swept up in it.

Three Ladies, One War

We get to pick from one of three female characters in Heaven Will Be Mine. No spoilers here, but each of the ladies has their own story and they have their own thoughts, feelings, and desires and we get to experience that first hand. What we have here is just so well told and the way that each character is written truly does make you feel like you know them very well. The way that the stories can change based on your actions helps make the story feel even more personal and meaningful.

A Special Mission

As Heaven Will Be Mine the gameplay is all about making choices and the choices that you make in this game feel like they matter. Each play through takes 8 in game days and at the start of each day, you pick what mission you want to do and then make various choices. Your choices can result in loyalty or betrayal to your faction, but it is not just about playing for your faction. You get so connected to the characters that you may want to jump ship for love! It is honestly very well done and while it is still a visual novel, the way it is all presented to us and the way that your choices feel like they have so much weight makes the gameplay feel very involved.

Anime Cyberpunky!

The visual style of Heaven Will Be Mine is very original and not what you usually get with a lewd visual novel. The game has a very anime cyberpunk style to it. I love the comic book way characters will pop up in a panel and the way it is so jaggy and how much of it looks like it is taking place on a computer screen gives the game a ton of personality. I feel like the visual presentation of the game goes perfectly well with the setting, the characters, and the story that they are telling here.

I have to say that for me, Heaven Will Be Mine is pretty much a perfect visual novel. The game has a fantastic world that they have created here, a world that is explained very well and gets you invested. While that is awesome, it is the characters and their interactions and the way that we have so much control over their stories that make this such an amazing experience. If you love sci-fi and want an epic love story in your visual novel, you have to play this game and make sure you have some real time to dedicate to it as well as it is so worth it.
