H Mate!

After I spent some time with H Mate! I went straight online to see what people's opinions on the game were. The reason for that is this game is weird, like really, really freaking weird. And I know that we are talking about lewd games and that weird kind of goes with the territory, but I had such a bizarre time with this that I felt like I had to be doing something wrong and that there was more to this than I was seeing.

Happy Wife, Happy Life

The game does have a story and that story is that you are a newly married man and you and your wife, Miku are trying to make a go of it. The idea of the game is that you come home after work and now you are going to unwind with your love and of course nail her super hard as that is what these types of games are all about.

Apart from that H Mate!, does not really have much of a story. I get that the idea of this game is that it is designed to be a more “relaxing” kind of experience, but still I thought it would have offered a tad more.

Where The Heck Is Miku From?

I have played a ton of lewd games and they tend to either go for a more realistic look, an anime-style look, or a pixel retro look. H Mate! is a very strange game in that it has very realistic looking backgrounds that the game is set on. Then we have Miku who is like an anime character come to life. Much of your enjoyment that you get out of this game is all going to be down to if you find Miku hot or not.

I have to be honest and say that I find her kind of terrifying, like I am in the real world and then this creature from another dimension has come and wants to have her way with me. On the flip side of this, I can see why some people do find Miku cute. To tell the truth, if the whole game had an anime style, I think I would too. It is just she looks so jarring and out of place that it is hard to see the cuteness in her.

What Does The Thing Again???

I am certainly no stranger to cryptic games, games that I like to call a “where the hell am I supposed to go” kind of game. Well H Mate! is a little different in that you only have your house to move around, but the game gives you no indication whatsoever in regards to not just what you have to do, but how you do it. No button prompts, no guide, no nothing you have to play around with the keyboard and figure out what does what.

The idea of the game is that you talk to Miku and eventually you will get to have sex with her in a few different places in the house and in a few different positions. Then the game will loop and you get to do it all again.

Pros:

• I can see why some people like Miku
• On a whole, the game looks decent
• I liked the soundtrack
• The game has a good idea
• I like how it tries to be lighthearted and cute

Cons:

• There is nothing in the game that shows you how to actually play it
• The anime Miku does not fit in with the backgrounds at all!
