Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love

I grew up when FMV games were touted as the next big thing, so when a game like Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love comes across my radar, I have to check it out. This is a story-driven adventure game, and one that I had a lot of fun with. I was very impressed with this, as they do not really make games like this anymore, but this one here is done very well. I was really excited to play this, and it did not disappoint. If FMV games are your jam, especially those with cute girls, this is a must-play for you.

A Love Story That Spans Time!

I do not want to go into too many spoilers here, as the story is the main aspect of Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love. However, I will give you the basics. We play the role of a photographer who specializes in taking photos of hot girls for Maxim magazine. We are tasked with taking some photos of these models, but something strange happens. We also end up dealing with past versions of hot ladies from many years ago. It sounds like it would be complicated, but for the most part, it works very well.

Who Will Steal Your Heart?

The thing is, Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love has a few different ways that the story can go, so depending on the choices you make and the girl you select first, it will be a different experience. The writing here is pretty decent, and the game's native language is Korean, but I found the translation at the bottom of the screen to get things right for the most part, and the few translation errors that did happen were kind of amusing. What I think makes this succeed is the fact that the ladies have actual personalities, and the game does as good a job as it can in making us feel like we are in the shoes of this interesting photographer.

So Freaking Cute

Of course, with Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love being an FMV game, we have actual actors playing the roles, but in the case of this game, it is real models. They name-drop the models, and if you are from South Korea, I am sure this is awesome, but I did not know who these ladies were. What I do know is that they are all very attractive, and the game offers more than enough titillation and teasing to make things pretty sexy. Of course, there is no hardcore nudity here, but that is more than ok with me, as it was never supposed to be that game. Overall, the video quality is very good. However, when a choice pops up on the screen, I do think that this could have been done a bit better, as the whole choice is not always in the choice box, if that makes sense. The sound quality is great as there is full voice acting, but it is in Korean, with English (and many other regions) subtitles.

Making The Right Choices For Love

I have already touched on the gameplay of Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love, a bit, but it is pretty much what you would expect from a FMV style story based game. In many ways, it is a visual novel as you watch the story unfold and then make the choice you feel is right. Your choice can change the way the story goes. While it does not have anywhere near as many choices to make as the awesome As Dusk Falls, I do think that the choice path follows a similar kind of format, where you can see at the end of the game what choices would have radically changed things. In all, there are more than enough choices here to make a few play-throughs worth your time.

• The different girls are likable in different ways

• Your choices feel like they matter

Cons:

• Of course, once you have seen it all, there is no replay value
• FMV games are not for everyone

Eternal Kingdom, Curses of Love is an erotic visual story with multiple choice that introduces you to the models of the famous Maxim magazine. Ha Dong-Hoon works as a photographer and in his contacts a huge number of all kinds of people. However, the hero is still very lonely and this is due to a strange curse that makes the girls freeze in a daze when they come into contact with the hero. Will the girls with whom Ha Dong-hoon has a connection from his past lives be able to change this depressing course of events?
