Domestic Rhapsody (Housekeeping Rhapsody)

While there are a few translation issues with Domestic Rhapsody that prevent me from scoring it higher, I still had a fun time with this lewd game. It has some very nice-looking pixel art, plenty of erotic scenes, and the premise is something that I got a chuckle out of, as it is like a plot from some kind of cheesy porn movie. I am kind of surprised that there are not more positive reviews for this one, as it has a lot of fun elements that make it a good lewd game to play if you are in the mood for something a bit more on the lighter side.

Landing On His Feet, While She Is On Her Back!

The story of Domestic Rhapsody has a ton of potential, but the translation is not the best, and there were even a few sections that were just in Japanese, like they had forgotten to translate them. The game has you working as some kind of programmer, but you lose your job. Desperate for work, you take the role of a male housemaid for a wealthy town, and you have a selection of very different ladies that you end up working for. Of course, things start out professional, but things soon heat up!

I Would Like To Get To Know You Better

The thing is, Domestic Rhapsody has three very different women whose homes you are looking after. We have your typical married and frustrated housewife, a student who is working hard and needs a little relaxation, and an office chick who wants to leave her day at the office and have fun at home. However, due to the translation, I never felt like I was getting in-depth with these ladies and actually getting to know them. They are more like character archetypes than full-on developed characters. Hey, it works, but I do think that it could have been so much better. To be fair, this could be a translation issue, and in Japanese, the characters are much more fleshed out.

A Hard Day's Work

As the story is not all that deep, the rather chill gameplay of Domestic Rhapsody makes this the kind of game that is pretty easy and relaxing to play. You have to do various tasks for the different ladies, the kind of stuff that you would expect, such as some cleaning, cooking, moving stuff, and so on. You do the same few tasks over and over again, and her affection meter will fill up for you, and that, of course, is when the real fun can begin. Once you start banging the ladies, it is not just all straight sex! You have to be cautious so that you do not get caught, as there is another meter that, if it fills, you are caught, and your job is over.

Getting Caught In The Act!

I am a massive fan of the high end pixel art that Domestic Rhapsody has going on. The different houses and locations are well detailed and a lot of fun. My favorite one is the bathhouse-type location. You actually see the pixel art characters having sex, and I thought this was so much fun, especially when the husband was in the bed, or there was a fat dude in the bathhouse. There are also more detailed sex CGs in the game as well, and what I liked about these was, first of all, they were super hot, but the character faces were very expressive, and this somehow made it even hotter.

Pros:

• I thought each of the three ladies was nice
• The gameplay is basic, but it is also fun
• There are plenty of fun sex scenes
• If this gets a proper translation, it would be epic!

Cons:

• Parts of the game were impossible to follow
• It may be a little on the grindy side
