Angel Beats! -1st beat- is a visual novel based on the cult anime series "Angel Beats!". Otonashi Yuzuru finds himself in a strange school and his sudden onset of amnesia seems to be to blame. But his theories quickly fall apart, as the students of this school quickly tell Yuzuru the real message of this school. An afterlife, one of many, led by an emotionless angel as president of the student council.

The protagonist and the other students must leave regrets of a life they don't remember in order to rest their souls. Except that not everyone agrees with this order and Yuzuru becomes a member of the Afterlife Front squad.
