This game follows in the footsteps of many other popular rage games, such as Getting Over It, another climbing game that is absolutely merciless in its approach to frustrating gamers.

Frustrating but not Impossible

While A Difficult Game About Climbing is indeed frustrating, and will likely make you rage quit at least once, it’s not impossible. The game gives players a minor break by dividing the game using various bodies of water. If a player falls (which they inevitably will) the player only falls to that body of water. They do not have to start over from the very bottom, only at the beginning of that segment.

While this seems very fair, it doesn’t make the game any less frustrating. Gamers still fall a lot, and being unable to get past a certain spot can be maddening.

The developer, who goes by PontyPants online, admits that coding isn’t his skill and Unity did most of the work for him.

Since he used freely available assets on the internet, it’s likely many of these were shared with the game that inspired it. Don’t be fooled by the simple graphics however, the game is addictive, challenging, and completely worth a few minutes of your time.
