A Couple's Duet of Love & Lust

It was the rather poetic title of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust that drew me to it. This is a lewd visual novel and one that as I write this is still in development. However, I have been very impressed by what I have experienced so far and the story has more to it than many other lewd visual novel games that are fully finished. While it is about a “cheating wife” the game handles this in a more mature and interesting way than games like this usually do.

Keeping Things “Open”

The plot of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is about a happily married couple who have to move to a new area. These two do love each other and they have a great sex life, but they do have an open marriage where the wife does have sex with lots of other men. While this does paint the husband as a “cuck” he is not mercilessly punished like a man such as this usually is in a game like this. It is all handled very well and I am legit intrigued to see where the story is going to go.

There Is No Going Back

Again, I do have to say that as I write this, A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is not yet complete and story paths and plots may change. However, once you start down a particular story path there is no going back. So, if you make a decision, it is 100 percent locked in if that makes sense. I am very interested to see how the husband will play out. He loves his wife and knows what she does (well to some extent) however, will he stick with her? I am very excited to see what story paths will be added next. The gameplay is that of your typical visual novel where you read the text and then make various decisions as you progress.

Pow, Zap, Bang!

Visually, A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is one of the most interesting lewd games I have seen in a long time. The character renders are great, but they have this kind of comic book filter over them which I feel is going to split people right down the middle, you will either dig it or hate it. I actually think it is pretty cool, the wife is very easy on the eyes and overall, there is a high level of polish to everything.

The one thing I hope they do change is the size of the guy’s junk! The husband is average, but the other dudes are hung like elephants, for a story that has a bit of realism to it, they just look far too comical. It is not a deal breaker and I can deal with it and I am all for them being big, but comically big is not my thing.

• The writing and characters are great
• There are lots of sex scenes in the game already
• Your choices really do feel like they matter

Cons:

• The comic book style filter here might not be to everyone’s taste
• There is such as thing as too big if you know what I am saying

The title of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust sounds like some kind of cheesy porno that would have been on the adult channel back in the 90s….. not that I partook in that kind of thing in my teenage years of course. This is a fun, lewd visual novel that is truly very impressive with its scale. I have put a lot of time into this, and recently, I played it again for the first time in a while, and I came across new scenes that I had never seen before. While this is a story about a cheating wife, it does it in a much more “realistic” kind of way than many other lewd games go for.

A Big New Move Brings Big Changes

The story of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is very strong and well told. We have a loving and good couple who, due to some financial trouble, are having to move to a new place in a new area. The twist of this couple is that while they are very much in love and do care for each other, they are also in an open marriage, and the wife ends up having sex with more than a few different men. Now, on the surface, this sounds like every other cheating wife lewd visual novel, but the way this story is told is much more mature and realistic.

Not Just A Cuck

So many games that go for an open marriage or a cheating wife story like A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is doing have the wife getting laid all the time and the husband being some kind of wimpy cuck. That is not what we have here. The husband is a very interesting character in his own right, and while not everything is what it seems at the start as these two characters are very well developed and I liked how we get to see the story from both points of view and honestly, I do not think that either one of them are bad people, but you can tell that they do love each other and I was really rooting for them to stick together and be more exclusive to each other.

Leaning In A Little Closer

While the gameplay of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust is very much the same as all lewd visual novels are, the fact that the story is so well done and the two lead characters are characters that you truly do connect with. This means that your choices feel like they have so much more meaning to them. Also, this game does not screw around, when you make an important decision you are locked in on that path so you better be sure about what you are saying or doing. I love this kind of stuff. so many lewd visual novels do not give you a real consequence for your decision; that is certainly not the case here at all.

Taken To Another Dimension

The way that the visuals of A Couple’s Duet of Love & Lust work is very interesting. We have these very realistic looking backgrounds, and they are great. However, the characters in this game are done in a realistic style as far as the body proportions go, although they are all hotties! However, they have a kind of filter over them that makes them look like they are not from the same place as the background. I am not saying I do not like it, but I can see why it may be a bit jarring for some. The XXX content here is very well done and as you get so invested into the story of this husband and wife, I feel that it makes the sex scenes have way more impact.

Pros:

• The husband and wife relationship is very well done
• There were some excellent twists and turns in the story
• The sex scenes are freaking hot
• Many of the choices feel like they have some real weight to them

Cons:

• The art style of the characters may not be something you like
• If you want a non-stop sex fest kind of game, this may not be for you
